A new name for our game?
Started playing and following rugby in the late eighties (irrelevant I know but it lets people know my vintage) there isn't another ball game on this earth that tests one's physical and mental strength as much, while requiring individual as well as collective teamwork skills, combined with the sports whole ethos, in my eyes, nothing else comes close. So it's with some dismay and regret that the sport finds itself in such turbulent times again, the dawn of professionalism didn't seem to effect the chaps in the boardroom so much then, still not much seems to have changed now.
Rugby Union seems like something of a misnomer these days so I was hoping for some suggestions for a more suitable moniker... Rugby Factions, Disparate Rugby, Rugby Insular, Rugby Fractured, Rugby Split, Rugby We Don't Talk Anymore... All suggestions welcome, text removed
There's got to be a more cohesive future vision for our sport so it doesn't end up where it started only being played in some inter-house competition in public schools, surely there's some hope, some light at the end of the tunnel?!
If you can't think of solutions, let's hear what you still love about the game. That last line in 'Don't drop the egg'... There's no other sport in the world where your mate can take a dump in your hand and still be mates!' That has never happened to me, but I am a nurse so get plenty enough of that in my professional life!

So what exactly is this thread about?
Clue's in the title, but also wanted to maybe divert away from the disappointing turn of events that affect club competition. Merely some light (hand) relief

Now that's hand relief!
We've tried spreading the gospel to more uncivilised lands, it hasn't worked out so we're taking our sport and going home!

Better for one's dickie-ticker, all this discourse and heartache can't be good for anyone.
