I've got a hidden special tactic for this Thursday. It has never been used in this league and only Jose Mourinho has used it.

Barring the Chargers and Bungles game.
I'm pretty happy to be facing Indy in the next round, I like how we matchup with them.
Gotta fancy the 49ers to come out of the NFC for me. Great defence
Nah, I think Seattle match them and beat them in the NFC. I'm almost certain they'll be at the super bowl this time around barring one hell of a Saints or Niners performance in Seattle.
Indy and the Pats could be mirror images. Flawed teams with great QBs elevating them. If Brady plays mistake free then I pick the Pats to win.

You in a management role? Does sales exp help in procurement?sodhat wrote:I do procurement, yes, ZZZ.
Ive been made aware of a procurement role but as my background is sales I dont see it as something for me. Read a bit more into the job description & kinda seems certain attributes I have I could use in the role but obviously I have no previous exp in procurement.
Tbf the person pushing me to apply doesnt do procurement so they wouldnt know, hence why im asking you.

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXI
Well, you could paint it that you're effectively the other side of the fence to procurement. You're experienced in dealing with transactions and commodities. I'm assuming you have at least some knowledge of contracts and terms and conditions (as well as statutory law such as the Sale of Goods Act 1979). It helps to have good relationship building qualities and the ability to communicate with people.
The biggest difference is in attitude. Procurement people think of paperwork and formality. Their aim is to save money from the bottom line and to secure key supply chains and suppliers and have contingencies in place if something goes wrong. Very focussed on risk management and ensuring that a supplier failure won't happen...and if it does that you can recover the situation without having the business suffer.
You can get qualified if it's a career path, maybe mention that to your company and say you'd take on the learning with the role and grow into it with them. Can't hurt.

Ill send you a Mars bar as payment Soddy.
Cheers fella. T's & C's etc im fine with.
I did think its the a bit the reverse to what I do. Im able to build a rapport with my clients/customer. I sell, negotiate prices with specific accounts where as procurement dont you try get the best price to buy at?
Securing key supply chains and suppliers I dont a problem, Ive secured top sports clubs/stadiums as accounts so id just apply that in a different manner.
Paperwork.....how much paperwork is envolved?
As I said, I dont think its for me but a mate seems to think it is & the job ive been made aware off is for a big company/organisation. Thats the only reason im exploring if its something I could do & would want to do.

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXI
Well it can't hurt to take a look at it and ponder it.
It varies sector to sector and company to company as to what a procurement manager/purchasing manager does. It may mean buying high priced capital items or it may be smaller items that come through a complicated supply chain. It may not include buying anything at all, and it may focus on procurement strategy and largely doing clerical and paper based work. Administrative work on purchases for example sending standard terms, collating contracts, advising colleagues on purchasing practice.
If it's that last one, you'll need to be MCIPS qualified really. The first two you can probably get by without it if you have other skills.
I do a lot of paperwork and spend a lot of time tendering work or drafting contracts. It can get tedious. I'm a funny one though because I'm essentially my own department within a department and I chose to add the paperwork myself. It would depend on the company's procedures.
Also try not to think that procurement/purchasers are solely focussed on the cheapest price. It's always described as the "best value" and so it includes quality and risk in there. If you just went around getting the lowest price for everything you'll either end up with unhappy and half-arsed suppliers and service, or the quality won't be good enough and you'll wind up in trouble.

First team CB for the A team, Cm and captain for B team, part of the most successful team in our schools history, 4 league titles, 3 cups and one super cup. Yes we surpassed the Ian taylors zlee hendries etc. I doubt it very much he was insulting me.
Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXI
I bet you heard:
"You're such a Dicks!"
Whereas you're going to need to take the capital letter from that noun and take away the S too before you get what he really said.

Three defenders injured
What would be best do you guys reckon. Play Medel at CB and play Diame in midfield, or sell Diame to lawyers and sign a new CB?

Does anyone want to match my lawyer offers for this week? I like both players I am just thinking of perhaps raising some funds.
Marky I can loan you one of my defenders if you like for free? Ogbonna, Arbeloa, Santon and Bartra are going to most likely be in my team this week and Bruma is injured so I can't really loan them out.
You can loan one or 2 of the other defenders though if you like?

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXI
I just tweeted Julian Dicks asking if he remembers a teacher from our school. Instead of replying back to me normally he sent me a private message saying "yes I remember the name". That's strange.
Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXI
Is it stranger than receiving a tweet from a randomer asking if you remember a teacher from your school days?
I didn't know he had twitter though. I'll follow him and asks if he remembers taking a photo with me in a local Essex department store in 1997.

I appreciate the offer Miky, although as already said loaning isn't allowed, plus I do already have enough defenders I just didn't want to play a relatively unknown at CB

Pretty sure Roger Johnson got relegated from the Premier League with Blackburn.
The following season he got relegated from the Premier League with Wolves.
The following season (last season) he got relegated from the Championship with Wolves.
This season, he's moved to West Ham
Best of luck Sodhat

Just catching up with everything properly as I'm on a laptop and not on phone.
No outstanding bonuses, the last fixture before Xmas was the rescheduled Week 3 game with no bonuses as it wasn't a real week (if that makes sense). Week 6 is this week, all tactics sent to me except for the game between me and Zebs, which will need to be sent to someone else who can post the match on Friday.

We had this before with Nigel Quashie and we broke his hoodoo. Because we stopped playing him. Because he was terrible.
We probably have to play Johnson a bit because we're out of other centre backs. And we will probably get relegated. Because he's terrible.

Took me a while to realise that Julian Dicks was a footballer, thought he was just some randomer you'd found Viva
As for Roger Johnson, I remember him being rated really highly but only if he was paired with Scott Dann at centre back, think they were at Milan or one of the biggies in the Euro leagues

A footballer?
The footballer.
The best left back England have ever produced. And he wouldn't have missed in a penalty shoot out. And he was double hard.

Mighty he was a Footballer nothing special like Soddy makes him out to be. Between us my head of year said Dicks had a fight with Ian Taylor (Played for Aston Villa) and made him cry that hardman image was just an act.
