Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
First topic message reminder :
Boring game but good result for all the top teams around these two really. Difference between Arsenal winning the league and not is a world class striker, because in tight games like these in the big games a world class striker will finish the chance Giroud had. He's been excellent this season but misses far too many to deliver a title. That's what makes Suarez/Agueor and RVP last season the difference in the end.

Hoping Liverpool can do the business today.
Chelsea have been tedious but are always well organized against the better teams.

What a rubbish game between Newcastle and Arsenal. Both sides poor, Newcastle just worse.

spurs dominating possession but no way through yet. paulinho with a couple of absolutely outrageous flicks
not a fullstrength side, but passing it around well. lennon is really struggling at times. no sandro, vertonghen, rose, walker or townsend

Poor goalkeeping by Mignolet again. But none the less strikers finish by Etto.
Great game.

3 goals all come from poor defending.
1st Ivanovic was awful
2nd Sterling didn't try and get back and cover Hazard leaving him wide open
3rd Sahko shouldn't be letting that ball come back across the box

Yes, arsenal look terrible without Ramsey.
Wilshire just the laziest most overhyped player I've ever seen.

2nd goal is a bit unfair hazard comes in off the right wing across the pitch, a few passes exchanged and had the intended pass come off another player would have been in.
Plus Liverpool had defenders over.
Sometimes it is good play.

I disagree Ent, the reply from the half way line shows on easily Sterling could of got back. Great strike but awful play to leave him that open.

Disagree, had the pass gone through another player would have been in.
If anything a centre mid should have taken him as he made his run from that position.
Fair enough if you want your right winger in a 5 man midfield to be an auxiliary right back- you won't win many games.
What happened to your 2 screening midfielders? He runs off Allen's shoulder - criminal.

Sensing that neither should be on the pitch, Sakho and Eto'o swap shirts at half time

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
I'm pointing out Sterling as he is the one closest at the point of the strike Ent, should a player have that much time and space that close to the box? No. Is it bad defending if he does? Yes.
As I said all 3 goals were the result of bad defending, we can't get much worse though so hopefully we'll pick it up 2nd half.

Chelsea are really missing a Lukaku type player, can they get him from Everton by force in Jan?

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'something'
Nearly all goals come from small mistakes, the only real bad defending in this game has been Chelsea's from a set piece as that is a far more controlled environment that open play with a few deflections and transitions.
I think sterling is a bit rubbish but I wouldn't pin the blame on him.

I think that Jose Mourinho has said that there isn't an option to recall Lukaku.

There's no recall option with Lukaku.

Interesting match, second gripping one of the day. Eto'o is causing trouble on the shoulder. Liverpool not really producing enough with the amount of ball theyve had. Can Gnasher inspire something?

A tight game like that is definitely gripping to me. Never felt like Arsenal were in control but always felt they could score, Newcastle fought and could have grabbed something, as well as it getting a bit bitey between the sides.

Complete joke. I feel so sorry for Suarez, if Ref's are going to treat him like this, he should leave the country.

That's a penalty anyway, very silly from eto.
Questions to be asked of Webb giving he was looking straight at it.
Could he have given an indirect free kick does anyone know?

I don't feel sorry for him at all, great player but he is a classless diver and a violent cheat.
Really he should have be banned from professional football for the racist abuse, but as he is a valuable asset he got away with it.

More if he was banned permanently, he could have easily sued FIFA because of the lack of evidence.
He's no more of a diver than any of the other big diving names in English football, he does it a lot less these days anyway, learnt like Ronaldo not to do it.
