The thug will have to go, great work from the SC.
Won't be surprised if his ECB and CA friends save him at the ICC though!,. At least the BCCI is saved.

Agree, not a chance.
He would be like an never convicted crime lord but who associates with the under-world in charge of World cricket

Good to see a couple of ex Indian players who are not tied/money/commentators to the BCCI coming out and and deriding the BCCI.

KPF and SKYE, Srinivasan is already confirmed as BCCI's representative to the ICC, and his new friends or anyone else haven't said anything about it.

msp...there is a lot of water still remaining to flow under the bridge.
kanoon ka shikanja dheerey dheerey kastaa hai i.e the legal noose tightens slowly step by step in India. Here are the steps that will happen:
1) SC will order a independent probe by CBI and will keep and eye on probe
2) Probe will nail down a number of cricketers and IPL sides
3) one of these threads will link with Srnivsan
4) Srnivasan cannot come back to BCCI post...will be under a court case....
5) and then because of criminal investigations and charges if not an outright conviction either BCCI will refuse to nominate a tainted person or SC will stop it.
6) if he comes out completely clean in the probe as ordred in 1)....then he can go to ICC...but I really doubt that.
7) and there is a small but realistic chance that SC finds the rot so deep after the investigation that the entire BCCI structure may be ordered to be dismantled

Re: IPL 2014
Rajsthan association has stated that Srinivasna being an India Cement employee cannot attend any BCCI assignments.....hence cannot go to ICC
and gavaskar has to pass the ruling on behalf of BCCI
Moment of truth has arrived for Gavaskar....sooner then he would have liked
Will he do the right thing....or try to please Srinivasan for the fear he might be in Srni's clutches again later if he survives

N Srinivasan can’t represent BCCI at ICC: Mehmood Abdi
Press Trust of India | Jaipur | April 1, 2014 3:07 pm
Abdi has also filed an FIR against Srinivasan alleging fixing in a IPL match featuring Chennai Super Kings.

PIL in High Court challenges BCCI probe panel,Srinivasan's role
Rajasthan Cricket Association’s representative in the BCCI, Mehmood Abdi, said that N Srinivasan is not eligible to represent the body in the ICC after being forced to step aside due to a Supreme Court directive.
Srinivasan has been replaced by Sunil Gavaskar as the interim BCCI chief after the Supreme Court directed the Chennai strongman to step aside while hearing the case related to the IPL betting scandal.
Abdi has also filed an FIR against Srinivasan alleging fixing in a IPL match featuring Chennai Super Kings, owned by the BCCI chief’s company India Cements. The top court has asked for the removal of all India Cements employees from the BCCI.
“Removal of smaller functionaries of India Cements from various BCCI assignments would not be the desired compliance of the Supreme Court Order until N Srinivasan is removed from all BCCI assignments and responsibilities including representation in ICC,” Abdi, who is also a counsel for Srinivasan’s foe and former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, said in a statement.
“In view of this clear direction of the honourable apex court, N Srinivasan cannot represent BCCI at the ICC since he being an India Cements employee is barred by the Supreme Court order to be associated with any assignment of duties by the BCCI.
“This clarification on part of the interim President of the BCCI is imperative since an impression is being created in a section of media that Srinivasan’s role as the BCCI’s representative in the ICC is still intact,” he added

IPL starts with Mumbai vs Kolkata
Mumbai confused as always
too many resources......too much planning
and yet left too much for too many big guns unused
KP has a broken little finger so he might miss a game or two

Listening seconds ago to the KP interview, sounded cheap, just like the added bangs when the ball hits the bat and the commentators who go wild, that sounds fake.
Vaughn is there too £££ Yet he wants to slag others off with his columns. Used to like him!
Just hate this money for anything trend! Disillusioned of late.

KP and kirsten are a good team.
shame he has an injured finger.
it's good quality cricket in IPL......much higher than any domestic T20s and in many parts better than even T20 internationals...it's fun

That is where i for one disagree KP fan. T20 for me will never be quality cricket. It is and always will be a simple money making adventure.
Even on the cric-info site just recently, Gayle and Johnson have said it is a bit of a lottery but good fun.

get used to it...this is where future quality cricketers are likely to be seen a lot .
all A and B grade Aussies, kiwis, WI and SA are in.
and all prominent NZ, SA and Aus from past are in as various types of coaching staff.
Pitches in UAE has offered more assistance to seamers than the Indian IPL does

Re: IPL 2014
another prolific inning from Maxwell....95 off 45 deliveries.
it's shocking to see a nearly 7 foot tall Rishi dhawan amble in to bowl at 115 -120kph
a lot is talked and written about him.....but he ain't cut out for higher level....doesn't have a delivery leap.....just drags his back foot and delivers without a jump....and doesn't even power his shoulder like Rumesh Ratnayke or Malinga.
sandeep sharma is also looking a lesser bowler than he was last year
only balaji has gotten craftier

another impressive display by Ishwar pandey yesterday....he is really a hit the deck hard and get the ball to lift off a length bowler.....a wicket taker if you give him a few slips and gullies

chris lynn took the catch of the decade....and i say that in no exaggeration ...having seen dozens of stunner in the last decade....this was unbelievable......and hard to describe...you've gotta watch it.
Yuv played his hand in defeating his team Bangalore against kolkata.
IPL is rocking.....packed stadiums......oversold tickets

Great catch, but if he didn't slip it would have been a very simple catch... not to take away from his recovery

Sunrisers made only 184 for the loss of just ONE wkt against a poor DD bowling unit. The heavy DD batting should make light work of it.
Only watching for KP.

Re: IPL 2014
Mumbai Indian's management is the most stupidest management of all 8 teams.
1]They booked Glen Maxwell last season for whopping $1 million dollar to not give him a game and release him and look what damage he is doing this edition.
2]Dwayne Smith was one of the key reason why they lifted the trophy last edition, he fired on all important matches including finals to steer them home with title and he was released
3]M Johnson was lost to RR
4]S Tiwary was thrown of after a successful stint [not this edition thou]
5]They didn't have the brains to book Nation's top first class scorer last few years in Badrinath
6]They rather went for retired old tired war horse in Mike Hussey.
Now they posses a stunning stat for the season 5 loss in 5 matches, I personally hope they end up with 16 loss and create an IPL record for a season.
Only two teams at the moment impress me for the management skills and they are CSK and KingsXI Punjab, otherwise most teams are very boring.

Re: IPL 2014
Tendulkar..is the one word answer.
and the problem is not his absence from the playing team...
but rather his presence in the scheme of things in Mumbai as a strategist.......
over analysis, over complicated........trying too hard to be too clever, too cute.....was the problem with his captaincy and now the same when he is seemingly driving the strategy

Re: IPL 2014
Yeah, I can see the over-analysis thing happening. I have a check on cricinfo every now and then. There's so much graphical analysis (which is a great achievement!)... but really... it's all a bit too much to digest really.
Due to some scrap between the BBCI and Ch 10 here (I think they last had the broadcast rights here in 2012?)... we don't get any of it. The only mention on the major news channels was Maxwell's innings last week.
Even though I felt a little saturated after the summer of cricket here... it wouldn't hurt to have the option of watching a highlights package even... but obviously we are the victims of this stalemate. In a perfect world - these disputes would be put aside.
Had a chat with a nice Indian girl down at the shops the other day... she was fuming... telling me she has to stream selected matches and it quickly eats up all her monthly usage. And she's a Mumbai fan too!

Is she streaming or she watches streams online? I thought Australians have some of the fastest and most advanced internet services even though may not match us but I see the rates are quite cheaper than North Americans.
