even more shocking is that he scored 11 in the season before for watford!
Last season he had very good pass completition stats, very good amount of passes per game and good defensive stats

Pochettino staying. Bottle job.
As I expected really, didn't get carried away with some reports of a club meltdown. There won't be an exodus from Southampton that some believe would happen. Lambert will go most probably, but that was already in the pipeline.

"Our form in general hasn't been too bad" Chris Hughton in bullish mood at Colney #ncfc
EH?????
This is our form over the past 10 games , going back to December 4th against Liverpool.
LWDDLLDDLL.
One win in 10. In those 10 games we scored only 7 goals, and conceded 16. In that period we have played Fulham three times, Sunderland once, Palace once. We've had only two good performances at home to Utd (lost, undeservedly) and WBA away (won).
If that's not bad form then I dunno what is.

DZ think it's a perfect time for you to face us, we're in a slump at the minute. Basically players have realised we can't challenge the top teams or places & they've become complacent knowing we're completely safe in the high mid-table along with Southampton. Last four games reads LLLL. Fully expect Carroll to have an impact. Prediction 2-1 WHU.

1-1 1-2 for me, I think we're a team too liable to collapse against pace and that Pardew won't accept the continuation of that form

Be interested to see what Adam Johnson can do today against Luke Shaw. People will be expecting that last week's match winning display was a one-off.

They are just not at southamptons level.
But football is about moments. It could be 3-0, but it's not . Sunderland back in this.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I am at a loss to understand the mentality of the modern football fan.
Southampton score a very good second goal (and you have no idea how much it pains a Pompey fan to say that) and there is an outbreak of booing from the crowd.
Whaaaaaaaat...? What are they booing..? The fact that their team is 2 - 0 down..? I thought fans were supposed to get behind their team, especially when things aren't going too well. That is when they need support, not boos.
If they're booing Southampton, then why..? Southampton are there to try to win the game. Why should they be booed when they score goals..?
Some Sunderland fans, unable to bear the "trauma" of their team being behind in the match started leaving the ground.... after only 30 minutes of the match had been played. Talk about gutless. Have football fans in the north east got no backbone..? Can they not handle a bit of adversity..?
Almost from the kick off, Sunderland go upfield and score. Now the score is 1 - 2 and those people walking out have turned around and gone back to their seats. Now they've got a goal, they'll watch a bit more.
Sunderland fans (and all fans of that ilk). If you are so fickle, faint hearted and feeble, then you don't deserve a winning team. When your team is losing, then that's the time to man up, get behind the players and give them a lift. Not walk out on them as soon as the going gets a bit tough.

You seem to hate every thing about football 4th lion.
Back in you day hey.
I agree though I hate booing full stop in any sport.
I don't like singling sets of fans or players out though, it's not about certain sets it's about certain people..
I am however petty proud of the hard core palace fans.

Unsurprised to see Carroll on the bench. We also have no right back so it could be Taylor or Rat playing there. Never won back-to-back games in the Prem under Sam, draw at best by my guess

AJ 2-2
Was about to say that Johnson has been quiet & in Shaw's pocket but he's continued his good form. Good to see for the lad & also stops Southampton closing the gap on NUFC.

There is an awful lot to dislike. I have been watching football for a very long time, and have never seen "fans" walking out on their team after 30 minutes. Just because you're losing, eh?
Perhaps I am out of touch and it's more commonplace than I'm aware. Perhaps it's nowadays considered acceptable, like diving, appealing for things that you clearly have no entitlement to, feigning injury, waving imaginary cards in the referees face to get other players booked or sent off.... The list could go on, but I think you get my drift.
Of course we had bad things before. No denying that. It doesn't mean silly old buggers like me can't draw attention to fecklessness in the modern game, though.
I'm also somewhat bemused that the only thing you seem to find unacceptable is that Southampton "messed this game up." Might it not be that Sunderland (the team) actually showed a bit of fight and brought themselves back into it, rather than Southampton let them..?
A bit of credit where it's due to the Sunderland players, methinks, rather than knocking the Southampton team.
The Palace hard core fans are brilliant. If the team stay up this season, it would be no more than that set of fans deserve.

As said its individuals not sets of fans. Stop grouping whole sets of fans together.
Sunderland did brilliantly to come back. However Southampton let this game slide. You can't deny that old man
They relaxed. It was clear as day. Great footy first half and could have scored 4 or 5 to nil.
As a palace fan I know what it's like to grind them draws out when you are the worst team. But we normally start of with Sunderland's second half intensity from the off and it takes the opposition a long time to break us down. Which off course they invariable do. Southampton lost there intensity and need to be blamed. Sunderland upped there's and need to be congratulated , but also blamed for the first half.

Interesting point of view, young man.
I suppose football is one of those games where one team may take an early initiative only for the opposition to respond and "up their game".
I would be very surprised if Southampton dropped their level of intensity or desire to win in any way. Rather, it is more likely that Sunderland's response to the situation disrupted their rhythm and tempo. Southampton still had plenty of attempts on goal, but Mannone made some good saves which kept Sunderland in the game. Of course, it's all a matter of opinion. That's the beauty of sport, two people can watch the very same action and see it from completely different perspectives.
PS.
As for telling me to stop grouping sets of fans together, I might remind you that I don't take orders from you. I will criticise or congratulate in fair conversation as I see fit, ok..?

When citeh score early you are in trouble!!!
So Carroll not starting?
Yes lion agreed . Your opinion is yours Sir.. You can do what ya want.. Doesn't stop me from saying something stupid or profound. Take your pick which it is.
Btw there is a little bit a bias with me in regard to Sunderland as they are a big rival to palace at the moment. I have no issue with any team unless they affect mine.
it was a good game if not frustrating.but I agree with your main point though. I hate booing fans, but then from they pov they pay to watch Sunderland week in week out. And it am sure they were booing there own team not Southampton. It is there choice as it is yours to voice frustration, not the way I would do it. But they are also not alone.
