Women's Cricket - Aust vs Eng
Real dingdong battle going on in the current test match. England look to be favourites at the moment with Aussies still needing over 100 and five wickets left. But, whatever the result, sounds like it's been an excellent, even, contest. Shame that due to - presumably mainly financial - issues there can't be more of these full length matches.

Corporal - echo your sentiments.
In case not already aware, a bit of trivia for you. England bowler Kate Cross is the daughter of old Hammers' striker David Cross.

Is a very intriguing set up for the final day. The only other thing I'd note is that it seems to get easier to bat once the ball goes a bit softer so I wouldn't count Australia out yet, but I'd probably make England 65:35 favourites.
Hopefully some of the ODIs and T20s will be on Sky, will be good give some of it a watch. Apparently some of the fielding today was top, allegedly Sarah Taylor's stumping was world class.

Australia lose first wicket of the day after a partnership of 44 to stand at 99 - 6. They need another 86.
Now 99 - 7. Now 106 - 8 as Coyote lbw to Gunn.
109 - 9. All out for 123

Another excellent performance in the first ODI by the England women means they are close to retaining the ashes.

Without wishing to jinx it, England are now 8-0 up and Australia need to win the remaining 2 ODI's and the 3 T20's to win the Ashes! It can't happen... Can it?! After this winter I'm not writing anything off yet!
This winter: Australia Men 36 - England Men 0.

Very well done to the England women for retaining the Ashes with a convincing win in the first of the T20s.

Yes, very well done but surely there's only one Ashes?!

Very, very comfortable win too. A big win as well you feel, as if Australia had taken this game they'd be on a 3 match winning run with only two games to go and England would be starting to feel very nervous! But tremendous knocks from Taylor and especially Edwards.
