The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome all to the new pub. Hopefully the traditions from the last 606 will continue here in our new home. The only new rule I have really is, see that Tommy Bowe signed picture there above the bar? If anyone defaces that, they're barred. There'll be banter, indepth discussion, some rambling but above all mutual respect as always. It all looks very swish, but we still serve traditional beverages and food. So what'll it be?
Oh if you have any complaints by the way, don't look at me - speak to rugbydreamer cause she's a mod!
Now to fire up the jukebox...

Gilly - if you look at the statistics section of your profile, you will see every thread you have commented on but it wont tell you if there is a response.
On the menu, any threads with new comments will be highlighted in red.
So to answer your questions no, although you could elect to follow a topic, which would send you an email everytime there is a comment (but will drive you insane!)
And Hound - welcome

Typo! Ahem...
Hello new pub! New surroundings, new wall art new dimension even!
I'm off for a wander round and a familiarisation session. If I'm not back in 30 minutes can someone send out a search party please
Oh and as this seems to be a right of passage round here...

No worries Cari. I don't think dreamer was going. I hope they get to my office tomorrow otherwise I'll have to pop into work en route to Paddington on Friday. No big deal if I have to do that, our train isn't until 13:15.

Annoying that isn't it lucky? I wanted to let rip on here after the restrictive policy of the BBC only to be faced with an equally adept filter. bar stewards!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It was my plan all along - you thought the mods on 606 were bad, we are positively draconian mwhahahaha
Thats of course when we are not trying to sell you viagra with our virus ridden forum.
And the filter is in place for obvious reasons - please, PLEASE do not try and get around it! (cue lots of people trying to get around it!).
It is therefore for the benefit of the board!
Now, its been 6 hours and I still havent been given my Appletini - easy on the tini please.

After a while you will find yourself calling people kumquats as a swear word!
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
All this not-quite-swearing reminds me of the first time I realised that if you send a text to a land line, a posh robot lady reads it out. The more obscene the text, the funnier it is!

Blimey doesn't Queeneo look fab. Opened with a greeting in Irish that went down very well.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Jeez you guys (and girls) settle in quick! Welcome to 606v2
Just to answer some of the technical questions that have been posed... normally we don't allow pictures to be posted on this forum (only links to the pictures) but in this instance I'm going to add some of the forum icons just to make clear what I'm talking about.
If you go to the rugby section (or any section for that matter), you will see the article list (on this sort of forum, articles tend to be called "threads")
On the left hand side of the thread title you will see an icon. Usually looks like this - . This is a thread that you have already read.
If there is a thread that has new posts since your last visit, the image will have a reddish tinge to it - like this -
The images may looks slightly different depending if they are "busy" topics or not, but you get the idea
Next, after that icon, if it has posts you haven't seen yet you get an icon that looks like a little orange square. That will take you to the FIRST post since your last visit.
Finally, at the right hand side of the page, after the name of the last person to comment, there is another icon that will take you directly to the very last post on the thread.
Also to answer the question about looking for articles or comments that someone else has posted - go to their profile (click on their name) and look at the statistics tab. From there you can search for all articles (threads) that someone has started and also search for all comments that they have made (posts on other threads)
Hope this helps you all settle in here. Any more questions, just ask - either here, or in case I don't see them, just send me a private message (PM) - to PM someone, look for their user details over to the right of a post of theirs and click the image under their name to send them a PM

Rava, are you in Cardiff over the weekend?
If so I still have a spare for the Amlin, and its yours if you want it. You can sometimes never have enough tickets and I got a spare in case anyone fancied going on a whim. You'll be be sitting with me and my fellow Wasp, Andy. Quite a few regs have met him.
