The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome all to the new pub. Hopefully the traditions from the last 606 will continue here in our new home. The only new rule I have really is, see that Tommy Bowe signed picture there above the bar? If anyone defaces that, they're barred. There'll be banter, indepth discussion, some rambling but above all mutual respect as always. It all looks very swish, but we still serve traditional beverages and food. So what'll it be?
Oh if you have any complaints by the way, don't look at me - speak to rugbydreamer cause she's a mod!
Now to fire up the jukebox...

It's called days like these by Elbow. That song just resonated with me so much during the end of the match and just made me feel I was part of something big. And not just the match but the whole meet.
morning again,
have to agree about that song T, it just fitted into everything perfectly

I suppose if we end up selling loads of shirts we can probably send David Humphreys back to the High Veldt with an extra long shopping list!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Excellent news on the funds raised. I wondered how much we'd pooled together. Great idea as well making it a charitable event.
I was telling my friend about the weekend's meet. She was the one who encouraged me to go to rugby on my own if I had to in the first place (but i didn't cause Penfro stepped in). She said "Awh it's times like that I love Facebook and the internet..."
Micky - don't forget to keep an eye out for a DVD. There's bound to be one soon

Is that shirt for real? I don't mind the cartoon theme, but it just doesn't look like an Ulster shirt to me.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First I've heard about it- but I've heard we were going to use this years training top as our away shirt and do a 'novelty' top so this basically fits with what I've heard.
The lack of information is almost certainly due to the fact the shirts won't be out until near the new season.
We never play in our change strip anyway because we are the only side that wears white as a first choice in the league.
I agree Cari. But I felt the same way about the Blue HC shirt last season and that sold like hot cakes. So what do I know? 95% of our games we'll be wearing the same white shirt as we had this season.

I'll bet there will be loads of non-Ulster fans who go out and buy it though!
I mean, you wouldn't go out and buy the vanilla Ulster Home shirt would you Hughie? Not unless you were a fan. It'll probably bring in a bit of extra cash.

I don't know if you've seen it, but a former 606 pub regular has written an article over there criticising the decision to move the pub before 606 had shut. I really don't see why he's getting his knickers in a knot.

I'll sort of miss Portnoys if he doesn't join up over here.
He's rather mental and can behave quite childishly. He hates the Irish and loves to launch odd personal attacks on the flimsiest of perceived slights. And yet I like him, or rather he keeps me amused.

Ha notch I know what you mean. Sad thing is I enjoyed his company when we met last year. Just sometimes he just turns on us when we try to engage with him.
Ok my plan for the day to try sweat off a lot of the beer from the weekend isn't working. Spent most of it in bed.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
well that is a rather strange thread from Portnoys on ye old 606, don't think I'll bother replying to it.
work is an absolute nightmare today. My line manager was due to be on leave for 2 weeks so I knew we'd be busy, but one of my colleagues has just phoned in sick and is going to be off for at least 2 weeks as well.
Talk about being swamped in work! Not looking forward to the next few weeks at all
Am looking forward to seeing all the pics and vids up on the book of face later though!

What annoys me about that Lucky, is that we posted the link to here and said we were coming here on numerous occasions. Just because he missed the posts (obviously not as regular as some of us) he's blaming all and sundry for his own laziness/stupidity; and being very insulting about it too.
Dreamer - urgh! not the sort of day you need back at work. I dread to think what's on my desk tomorrow...

Have to agree about how difficult it is working. The Ash cloud is making things difficult for us too, as people might be away somewhere like I had to last year in Spain.
That Elbow song is ace. I went a little bit mad singing Dakota too I think. Kind of regretting smoking though, so will knock that on the head now.
I forgot to Sky plus the game, but thankfully it's being repeated on Sky Sports today.
