NFL Fantasy Game 2014
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to Season 1 of the 606v2 NFL fantasy league. I run the league along with Olly and Sodhat and any decision made by us is final.
A 53 man roster must be retained at all times. Leeway will be given during the draft however prior to the draft beginning and before game week one and from then on the squads must be no more than 53.
The 12 playoff teams are the teams involved in this league and will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
Budgets will be allocated following the first two rounds of the draft. Sodhat, Olly and I will give lower budgets to stronger sides and try to make the sides as balanced as possible. Managers will also be given £15m on the 1st of every month
There will be three types of transfers that will occur in the league:
Foreigns: Foreigns will open after the first two rounds of the draft and will see players from across the league available for monetary value. This will be accepted/rejected by Sodhat/Olly/Me after 24 hours in order to give other managers a chance of counter bidding. Managers can only make 1 bid at a time (until it is accepted or you are outbid) and managers can only make 4 signings every 30 days. Generally world class players cost 30m+; Top quality 25m+; good players 20m+; most backup and others will be between 10m and 20m. This will happen on a foreign transfers page
Draft: There will be 4 rounds of drafting. The first two will occur in a snake like format according to the finishing records in league (worst record picks first etc). Then after the first set of Foreigns are coming to a close (3 days after they open or when everyone runs out of money) another two round draft with the same order will occur.
Domestic Transfers: Teams are encouraged to deal between each other. Signings can be made on either cash or part exchange. These will be confirmed by both managers on the domestic confirmation page.
Player releases: Managers may choose to release players from their squad in order to benefit financially or stay within confines on squad boundaries. Compensation for releases will be as follows:
2011/2012/2013 All Pro = £8m
Prior to 2011 All Pro = £5m
Pro Bowler = £3m
Any other = £1m
Fixtures: There will be ten regular season games with each team playing others from their division home and away. These games will take place over the weekend. Teams will be named by Wednesday with tactics added by 00.00 on Friday. Tactics will be limited to 100 words. The page will be updated and managers will predict on results. An average of all predictions will be taken and then 0.5 added to each teams score for every prediction that saw then win. Managers who provide detail (3 lines) in results will receive £5m whilst just score will receive £2.5m. Failure to regularly predict will lead to punishments. The top 3 teams in each division will make playoffs.
AFC:
Cincinnati Bengals - NYG
Denver Broncos - Bull
Indianapolis Colts - Sodhat
Kansas City Chiefs - Forward Pass
New England Patriots - Olly
San Diego Chargers - JDizzle
NFC:
Carolina Panthers - Mikeygnfl
Green Bay Packers - CJB
New Orleans Saints - Bambam
Philadelphia Eagles - Barney92
San Francisco 49ers -
Seattle Seahawks - TM Moot

Re: NFL Fantasy Game 2014
I'm happy with that. I will look to get this over to the sports gaming pages so we don't clog up here although no mod has replied to me. If we all get our squad of 53s up and we can do a few domestic deals. The draft will then take place on Monday? Everybody happy

Re: NFL Fantasy Game 2014
Sounds good to me. Get the draft order up soon if possible (I could work it out but I'm lazy), and perhaps post on the alert a mod thread to get the page up on the sports gaming section

Seeing as you've probably got last pick anyway, I doubt you will be affected

And if you're anywhere near as excited as last year, might give us all some peace in between each pick

I'll post on the Alert a mod thread and ask for this to be moved to sports games in place of the old one

Re: NFL Fantasy Game 2014
I'd be up for it again. Maybe keep the format shorter though depend on number of teams. The draft/ free agency is always fun but people seems to lose interest with the games.

Don't think I'll have time for the games part of this but would be happy to set up a team if it helped?

May be worth sending PM's round to guys like Crazy Dave, Sodhat etc

My idea to keep it fresh was a draft every week? That seems to be the bit people like?

Re: NFL Fantasy Game 2014
Cheers for the PM Olly.
I'm going away for 4weeks in mid-march, so won't be around. Don't really want to start something I cant see through to the end properly.
I'll be available to do anything after mid-april.

Re: NFL Fantasy Game 2014
Now that it's public knowledge that Olly PM'd me, I feel obliged to consider it.
As a notable point, i'll be out of the country and away from the internet from mid March for about 3 and half weeks.

Hmm not garnerning much interest pre-draft, might be worth doing something in the summer months once training camp has started

Re: NFL Fantasy Game 2014
I guess you could run Part One (allocate teams, draft, trades), and then perhaps everyone votes, 1st-12th, for best to worst roster?
Part Two (set up teams, tactics, results) seems to be the issue for time/commitment (at least with me)
