Stevan Jovetic

Can the Man City fans, or anyone tell me where this guy is? Has he been injured? Admittedly I dont watch everys single game and follow all their team news, but whenever I have watched a Man City game he hasnt been on the bench. I havent heard anything about him apart from when he scored 2 against Wigan in the Capital One Cup. It seems Dzeko, Aguero and Negredo are banging them in. So is Jovetic injured, or does Pellegrini just not like strikers whos surnames dont end in 'o'?

Doubt he is needed tbh. Aguero, Negredo and Dezko are all a lot better than him.

Dzeko is 100% not better than him.

He is more versatile for a start, and he can play deeper or on the flanks if required as well as through the middle as a centre forward.

3 striker aint enough when competing in 4 competitions. all it takes is for 3 of them to have serious injuries then there royally f*cked.

Apparently the story is he lost his confidence and has had problem getting it back. Not as bad a situation as when Bosingwa went awol from QPR.

Jovetic is better then Dzeko, and to be honest, when he is on form, better then Negredo.

Awful comparison. Jovetic is never an out & out striker, neither a prolific goalscorer. He's essentially a wide man on the left cutting in or a no.10. He's been unfortunate with injury, clearly highly talented. Being judged before we've really even seen him in the EPL I fear.

The problem is, there aren't a lot of players who ever recover from such an unsettling beginning. This season will have to be considered a right off really.

Yeah, exactly. Season's finished for him because there is no way he will be forcing his way into the first team as it currently stands & Pellegrini won't risk him in big games after such a long time out. Bit part player with cameo roles is probably all we will see of him.

Jovetic should be loaned out for the rest of the season imo. And if City have an injury crisis up front they should put in a recall clause.

He was stupid enough to sign with a team that had 3 better forwards than him, he took the big inflated man city pay day well welcome to being spectator and losing valuable years off your career that you will never get back. They have had this guy all year the recent injury is cover for why they bought another player for 30 million that they don't need and won't play. Kind of like Richards or Rodwell.
