Is the Blues v Exeter being televised..
As the title says, anyone know...
My Sky planner is not showing the Blues game on at all (even the Red Button).
Surely the final game is being televised...

Re: Is the Blues v Exeter being televised..
No9 - I'm trying to find out the same thing. All my usual sources are indicating that it is NOT going to be shown, with Montpellier vs Benetton Treviso being the only other game not being shown.
I would have anticipated it being under the red button for the Glasgow v Toulon game
If it is I'll try to remember to post back here, but also check https://www.606v2.com/t6249-penfro-s-live-tv-guide-updated-thursday-16-01-2014-0840
it's in the "Anmouncement & Sticky" section on the main Rugby page

3 of Exe's pool games not televised - I'm beginning to get a complex. It's not as if have BT Sports emblazoned on their shirts.

Great work there. AMlin cup place potentially on the line and it's not even on the red button.

Cheers Penfro... will keep an eye out for your informed updates...
As for not showing this game, that's just an insult. Blues been the best of the Welsh regions in the HC this year, who'd have said that at the beginning of the HC, or even after the first 40 mins against Exeter.
I cant understand Sky's logic here, especially with all the debacle over European Rugby and broadcast rights going forward. if they wont cover it, why don't they let S4C do it live, I'm sure they would have a team there in a shot.... Its a farce...

Worse than that... just checked S4C listings and they are showing highlights of the Blues v Exeter in the evening, so they must have a camera crew there recording the whole game to select highlights..... So why not put it out live on the RED BUTTON.
Mad decision by a broadcaster who is fighting to continue being the chosen broadcaster going forward...

Rounds 1 to 5, SKY always had 1 match the chose not to televise (which I find bizarre !!). However, for Round 6 they choose not to show 2
Anyway, if ASBO says it ain't on, it ain't on - he is the font of Executor knowledge
ASBO - you alright bud ? How's the weather down there ? It's it getting Otter

Re: Is the Blues v Exeter being televised..
Just had a thought... It may not be on the Telly, but it may be streamed through the Sky Sports Event Centre (http://www.skysports.com/eventscentre?dcmp=EventsCentre_Heineken_SC) but you will need a good broadband connection and a Sky account to watch. You should have a Sky account if you have Sky Sports through your TV anyway...
Just checked and only Friday schedules up as yet. But hopefully Saturday the Blues v Exeter will be there as well.. Mind you rather watch on my lovely big HD TV rather than a laptop screen...

Yeah the Events Centre thing is really good. Shows all HC games live and you can go back and watch any previous match as well.
Also, it's unlikely by this point that someone will have a laptop and a HDTV that can't be connected in some way, if not HDMI then VGA or some other magic.

Have to say this has to be the most irrelevant Round 6 in a long time.
Realistically other than Leicester v Ulster does any game matter?
It would take Ospreys winning in Dublin or Connaught winning at Saracens to upset the top 8.
Not good for Sky trying to build up the drama.

When Cardiff are hoping for the Amlin qualification, after what has otherwise been a fairly poor season for them, and into a competition that has some happy memories, do you think it's appropriate to dismiss their aspirations as irrelevant?

Re: Is the Blues v Exeter being televised..
I was thinking only of HC which is what attracts the neutral supporters to watch.
Understand fully the importance of trying to qualify for the Amlin and how it matters to a club.
No offence meant but for Sky getting the viewers it is not good.

Actually, I would have thought that Sky could have built quite a good story based on Blues' HC exploits thus far, and their potential march to an Amlin final at the Arms Park.

Ah, well there's where you are wrong see... I have a brand new I5 Dell laptop which has an HDMI out. I have a great 42" Samsung LED HD Smart TV, which has HDMI in (as you'd expect). I have high quality gold HDMI cables, and BT Infinity high speed fibre, giving me speeds of over 60Mbs download. But I also have a HDMI wife (Her Dominant Mrs Interface) which screams blue murder anytime you try to connect the Laptop to the TV to watch SPORT... "You can watch that on the Laptop... I'm having Strictly Ice Factor Voice Diving on...."
I still cant believe why Sky go to the cost of sending expensive TV crews there and then decide not to air the game...

Great post mate, gave me a good laugh. Being young and unmarried I wasn't aware that this type of HDMI existed. One to look out for and avoid in the future, me thinks. Best try stick to other technologies

You won't notice that there is this interface until it is too late and you have made the fatal upgrade from girlfriend to wife, it seems to be one of those unannounced features that comes with the upgrade.

Re: Is the Blues v Exeter being televised..
Last week i found it odd that Connacht v Zebre was on the red button but Glasgow v Exeter was not.
I know us Irish support anything Irish and would tune in to see and Irish team regardless of support do well but you would wonder who else would.
I guess Sky don't see Exeter as a crowd puller even though i think most of us myself included have them as a team we want to do well and as our team in England or second team.

Re: Is the Blues v Exeter being televised..
You could watch Zebre vs Toulouse on the event centre from Sky UK - but no and English team playing a Welsh one!
Considering Sky's PR war with BT they might want to actually show the games they are paying for!
On the result - pretty much par for the course at the moment.
On the plus side, the Arms Park has a new maximum capacity and a record breaking 12,125 crowd watch the Blues best efforts to shoot themselves in the foot for Amlin qualification.

Fair do's to the lock dicomidis. he has been saved the Blues at second row, what a great break and pass to set up the try.

Was quite peeved reading the BBC article that didn't aknowledge his part in the try. They credit it to Halfpenny, Jenkins and then Cuthbert running it in. Was shocked by his turn of pace.

According to Phil Davies the Blues have made good strides this season - really how can he say that.
