Tyson Fury Vs Gonzalo Omar Basile - 15 Feb Copperbox
Basile is one seriously tattoo'd dude. He has that prison look.

be hilarious if he sparked Fury, but can't see anything other than an easy Fury win.

Why would anyone want to do that to their body?

Never heard of him. Probably one of these cliched "teak tough and comes to fight" mean looking Mexicans/South Americans they ship over who turn out to be neither teak tough nor coming to fight.

Usually I'm not a fan of such sprawling tattoos, but think he pulls it off. Looks like a badass, but I agree witch catch, unlikely to fight like one.

Boxrec have him at 95th in the world - 20 odd places below Matt Skelton and Oliver McCall. He is there 4th best Argentine HW, with 2nd and 3rd places both held by people in their mid 40s.
In other words he is garbage.

What happened to the negotiations with Wilder? Have never seen this guy fight but given Fury is now handled by Britain's worst promoter and Britain's most cautious promoter I am not too optimistic .

Judging by the recent footage of Fury he's far from in good shape. He hasn't fought in nearly a year at this stage. Basile the story goes isn't afraid to have a go and is a big guy at 6'6".
You would have to expect that Fury will be able to get this guy out of there in 3 or 4 rounds.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fury ends up on Warren's Aintree card on March 1st.
Then it's Chisora.

Aintree would be apt.........You could probably fill a grand national race list with the donkey's he's fought....
Then again he has Irish roots......Which is why you like him......Is it not my friend ??

Totally agree Truss, I mean you have an agenda and are pretty obvious with it, but Strongbacks is on another level.

My impression is you are a little kid who gets a kick out of trying to annoy grown ups.
As such I pretty much ignore you. You're too insignificant to foe.

Fury tweeted about this guy a couple of days ago. Im guessing it can only be a tune up fight and not one we are supposed to take too seriously. He has been out of the ring a while due to the haye business.
Seen tonight prices opponent failed his medical so there is a late replacement.

Another feather-fisted nobody to act as a punch-bag for a few rounds.
He even lost to Nasciemento in 1 round ffs!!
Had a good laugh about this on Twitter the other day when announced.
Feel bad for Fury after the Haye mess, but this is just another pathetic tomato can cherry-picked to not expose Fury's fragile chin.

Yup, nothing but a "keep-busy" fight. Dimitrenko KO'd this guy in 54 seconds way back in 2006. He's almost 40 so hardly a first-rate opponent despite being quite active. I can't really see anything other than an early KO for Fury.
I will laugh my butt off if Fury gets decked by this no-hoper...

Is this the first of a trilogy of fights? I've just looked at his previous fights on boxrec and he has fought most of his opponents either 2, 3 or even 4 times! Lazy promoting!

he's called out wilder again recently. both camps want the fight but i think their promoters are cautious because it's not as big a money spinner as fury or wilder. a loss for either could be disastrous.
as a rematch with chisora looks more likely, they're building that up. both warren and the fury camp have talked about it. this is a warm up for chis. im not excited by that fight, but chisora is on form and it'll be bigger than the first fight.

They're trying to build a Chisora and Fury rematch which is a very good fight to be fair in my view, both turning up in shape.

I don't think it is a good fight........
Time Fury, Wilder, Haye types fought Wlad and had done with it...........
Everyone is treading water expecting Wlad to go and hoping to win the alphabet lottery...
I hope he sticks around for another 5 years........make them show some bottle..

The heavyweight boxing in the copperbox is usually the absolute drizzling sh1t. The refs are such hometowners its scary. The stoppages are as soft as Chisora's flab..

No doubt Fury will claim this guy is ideal preparation for a fight with Wilder as they've both got tattoos whilst hopefully providing Fury with invaluable spelling lessons
