"Sky sources understand that Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Kurt Zouma from St Etienne.
The 19-year-old defender is expected to seal his switch to Stamford Bridge before being loaned back to the French club for the remainder of the season.
Reports suggest that Zouma will sign a five-year deal after Chelsea agreed a fee in the region of £12.5m, making the Blues the biggest spenders in the transfer window so far."

Pretty disgraceful that a team can post losses of over £49mil then have a net spend of £8mil, makes a mockery of the whole financial fair play system.

from what ive heard he was a bit of a nutter before he signed so Southampton only got themselves to blame
bit worried about ac milan these days, feel sorry for defence/midfield with the likes of taarbt and balotelli in front of them, total lack of tracking back there. two of the most laziest players out there, add kaka and el shaarawy to that aswell and its no wonder there struggling

The picture of Ashley Cole at West Ham's training ground was hilarious. Apparently watching a mate's kid play for our youth side. People exploded!

DONE DEAL
Brighton's only good player has gone:
"Sunderland have completed the signing of Scotland international Liam Bridcutt from Brighton and Hove Albion. The 24-year-old midfielder, who arrives on Wearside for an undisclosed fee, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal"

If that was true, i'd be hanging myself within the next hour.
As for Grenier, seems unlikely. Not high enough bid & he doesn't want to mess up his chance of going to a WC.

£Near enugh £70m for Feilani and Mata is a big outlay, but Mata is quality.
I see Fabio has been offloaded...as the Man U clearout starts. Half the squad is not good enough and Fergie knew it only too well.
Man U have some nice attacking riches...but for me they need a couple of devils in the midfield. Utd always had at least one powerful player there but currently they all seem weak. They need to unearth another Keane...or a Tiote or someone, then sort they're back 4 out.

"Crystal Palace believe that they have secured a loan deal for Tom Ince, after giving Blackpool a £1m loan fee.
The winger has been chased by several clubs, chief among them Stoke and Swansea City, but Palace have moved decisively.
The London club have freed up the space for Ince by turning Jason Puncheon's loan from Southampton into a £1.7m permanent transfer."
Signing Puncheon on a perm is decent. Has been a great player to palace since that awful pen miss. And if we get Ince on loan he could make the difference to this season.

To be fair he was a flop in Italy until he moved to Espanyol and started performing much better then moved to Roma where he was decent, plenty of talent but an absolute nut job. The loan is only costing 400 000 but the buy clause is about 15 million, no way will Juve pay that for a backup striker.

El Sharaawy has been out pretty much all season with injury so unfair to blame him, Kaka has been pretty good, nothing like he was 5 years ago but he was short of game time before moving back to Milan. Taarabt is just a terrible signing, should never be within a million miles of a team like Milan, Balotelli is a clown, he scores but doesn't care about the team, which is the main reason Milan are in the position they are, with the signings of Honda and Rami they should move up the table. Below the top 4 the rest are terrible this season, watching Inter nowadays from 2010 is heartbreaking.

Re: January Transfer Window 2014
The deal for Kroos to Utd went sour yesterday.
Utd sent the player's agent a promotional video of the club's vision. Kroos though didn't like what Moyes's vision was for the team and stated that he actually prefered Man City at present.
Ed Woodward and new marketing manager Jonathan Rigby were in on the conference call when they were informed and were livid that they were not only being snubbed but also the direct reference to City.

Things like that I don't believe, too much information regarding what goes on behind closed doors. I don't quite understand why Kroos would want to leave anyway especially to join a team like City actively pursuing other targets.

Some of the names Norwich have been linked with today...
Rodwell on loan - yes please
Ings for £5m - fairly pointless seeming as we don't create
Glenn Whelan - kill me now

From what I can gather it wasn't that City were keen but just that the agent was using it as a snub.

Fulham getting Mitroglou could be huge. Holtby and him turn that side from definite fodder to a very decent looking attacking unit.

With Osvaldo going out can see Southampton buying a forward before end of the night.

Re: January Transfer Window 2014
Not much exciting happening today, interesting Fulham got Mitroglou but apart from that it's been quiet. Disappointed we haven't replaced Cabaye but you can see that teams know we have the money & we need to actually spend on numerous players with that money, not just one. Expect there will be a backlash from some NUFC supporters but, in reality, it would be better to re-invest in the summer, when more targets are available. Do I think buying Grenier for a ridiculous price in this window, will fire us to a top 4 or 5. No. That's what Ashley is probably thinking.
Had to laugh at that Kroos stuff also

To be honest, his days are numbered. If it's not with Inter tonight, it will be someone else this summer. Cabella is his long term replacement in the summer, I would imagine. We win more games than we lose, when HBA is on the bench. Says it all. Exciting player, just hugely frustrating & doesn't work for the team.
