Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
First topic message reminder :
Mancini was terrible, how I wish he was still there.
Should have walked the league the last 2 years with the squad he had and gotten out of his cl groups.

£24m. That was different. RVP was the top striker domestically & about to join Man City. Ferguson had to act & act fast, regardless of price. Ferguson also was working on the short term, as secretly, he knew retirement was around the corner.

How much was RVP?
Different level of player though isn't he as well as being bought off a rival, there weren't many better forwards in world football but there are plenty of better midfielders. As it goes i'd have liked us to have signed Cabaye but with us being so heavily linked to Kroos and Gundogan I don't see him as a long term option. He's not better than Carrick so £19mil for a squad player is a lot of money to spend.

Sorry, I'd have Cabaye over Carrick anyday tbh. I think hes pretty average.

Right a couple of things.
1. We are not better than Stoke, we're probably on a par with Fulham for worst side in the league.
2. We didn't batter them bar the first 5 minutes or so.
3. We gifted the goals on a plate to Cardiff, totally chucked it away. Zaha made a little difference, but he wasn't the reason Cardiff won that game. The reasons were pur inept management, shambplic defending and then Marshall who went all beast mode
well I watched the game mate and zaha totally changed the game- the impact he had was noticeable from the first second he stepped on the pitch.. He also got man of the match!! and only played 50 minutes..
If zaha hadn't come on- would you have still lost?
just in those 7 minutes first half he changed the whole attitude of th team and he was bursting into the box. Then when the team come back from the break he supplied a great through ball to assist . He then seconds later got back in the postion and put one on a plate for someone. Then he did it again and they won a corner.. which they scored from..
Now dont get me wrong you could have still won the game if it wasnt for marshall or Hougtons late subs,. or just luck!!- as you started threatening when you brought Redmond on.,. But Cardiff wouldn't have threatened you the way they were playing before Zaha came on, I doubt they would have even cored a goal..
also in regards to what team is better- Norwich were on 24 pts before today- stoke were on 22.. That is why you were a better team than them. NO agendas- no bias - just fact based on where you are in the league

Trust me we'd have conceded whether he was on the pitch or not. He did well when he came on, but nothing special. I'd expect most premier league footballers to make that pass for the 1st goal.
Why we didn't bring Redmond/Fer on sooner I'll never know. Gutierrez is useless going forward, basically just a defender on the wing and Bradley Johnson is just abysmal.
Unless other teams seriously screw up I cannot see us staying up. At most I see us getting 32/33 pts

he still looked like the best outfield player on the pitch and deservedly won MOTM.(although i may have been inclined to give it to Marshall)
Redmond also looked very good and totally changed you like Zaha changed them - but only played 15 mins.
Your manager is clueless mate.

You don't have to tell me Mysti, most sane Norwich fans have been saying it for ages. Most were willing to give him a chance this summer to build his own team, but its just turned into a shambles and the board are afraid to overrule McNally and sack him, while McNally won't because he hired the clueless buffoon in the first place.
I'm so angry I don't even have words. Cannot understand how some still think he's the man to take the club forward!!!!

Yep and City at home next.
So we pretty much have 9 games to get 13-16 points. Will take a minor miracle

You may only need another 11 pts to be safe . And I can't see how palace are going to git them either tbh. Add another 5 teams to that as well who need more.
It could end up being a 6 way tie at the bottom with only goal difference separating us.

That's a little post on the failings at our club.
We are pretty much relying on others to screw up now, and they might. But for the life of me I can't see us getting ourselves out of this.
If we can keep it to under 5 against city next week I'll be shocked

It astonishes me that Hughton has not been sacked. He can't get anything out of these players, he's just relying on the shi*ness of the surrounding teams. Hooper, Van Wolfwinkel (did it for sporting & in the europa league), Fer, Redmond, Howson etc, etc. The quality is there, it just needs motivating & managing properly. Think it needs a young, exciting, positive manager in there, maybe european style. Hughton is stuck in the dumb days, his ideas are old, ponders about, reactive instead of being pro-active. Norwich, as a squad, especially offensively, should be way further up the table compared to where they are now. Don't react now, it will be too late with those fixtures in april/may

Pretty much spot on John
I see it a little like the AVB situation at Spurs. A manager who can't inspire the players, trying to get players he's brought to fit his system when they don't, and then doesn't have a plan B when it all goes wrong.
We need someone to come in and allow the undoubted attacking talent we have to flourish.
It's been obvious for ages he should be sacked, he won't be. I have it on good authority members of the board (Bowkett and Wynn Jones (delia's hubby)) wanted him sacked ages ago, but McNally won't admit Hughton isn't the man to take us forward as he appointed him.

He's odds on at 1/2 to make the world cup squad. Maybe I am missing something?

To be fair to Pardew, he's been fu**ed this week by Joke Kinnear & Ashley. He also went into the derby game without Cabaye, Remy, Gouffran & Coloccini. Take four established first team players out of the teams in the bottom half.

Had a long post typed and lost it, essentially fed up with moyes.
He has 3 of the best players in the league and 2 of the best 3 players from last season.
Yet he sends out a team poorly prepared and set up like retards every damn week.
Away to stoke who can't score and have 1/18 points.
We leave free men on the edge of the box against longs balls.
Our less talented younger players are getting worse instead of better.
Stop making excuses and sort it out or get out.
