Nah I think Utd have a good shot against them. If it's a big win against Fulham tomorrow then one team will be going in full of confidence, the other on a real low.

4-0 in twenty minutes!
Just had a look at Piers Morgan's Twitter page - he's the worst type of "supporter" a club could have.
And that signing of Kallstrom by Wenger? #inspired

Sterling for Brazil for me.. So comfortable on the ball, and that relationship with Sturrudge may make the difference for him who is a sure starter. It's all about partnerships..

sterling should be on the plane, but its all about balance for me, youd think it would be sturridge and rooney up top then with two out and out wingers it leaves a lot of pressure on two central mids when we dont keep the ball well anyway. i think we need three in the middle or else we'll be passed of the pitch by most teams

rooneys not a proper sit in the hole midfielder though he's a striker. weve been struggling all season with just two in middle even when rooneys been playing, he works hard but he's not a midfielder

He is as good a number 10 as there is mate.. the problem with united is you havent had carrick all season and you dont have a Gerard/barkley who is more box to box.
I think for once the england team is better than the united one!!

Sterling is good but very, very raw.
Would take him to Brazil, but only for the bench initially. Plenty of good players coming through for England, even though *snigger* the FA's youth coaching system doesn't work.
Of course it does! Barkley, Lallana, Sturridge, Oxlade, Walcott, Wilshere, Rodwell, Ward-Prowse etc.

Jack Wilshere has been all mouth and no action for pretty much most of this season. Henderson has been much more of a solid player this year. I think the media hype around Wilshere may have gone to his head.

I am not bothered about bringing any players that can't retain possession or arnt supremely comfortable on the ball.
Townsend can run with it, Johnson is a quality old school English player but sterling is the real deal..
England have got to the point were we can field a team and a bench with players that can rival other teams on the ball. Gerard can provide the typical British heart and delivery. The rest can just play football. We need to write of thinking we can win and actually play football. There is no reason why England can't play similar to this Liverpool . And that would give us respect.. Even hibbz might start supporting us again..
Sorry for the hyperbole lads.. Just needed to let it out

Funny, Sterling is the most overrated of them in my eyes. Pretty sure if Johnson and Townsend arent comfortable on the ball then they have no other redeeming features. Generally a poor finisher and I think would get exposed at top level international football. Not a big fan of all three of em if i'm honest. Rather take Lallana and the Ox.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
Townsend had a two game purple patch... His redeeming feature is excess speed.. He is just another a typical British winger. One of many
Sterling has been quality all season.. Cuts in side and passes well,
Johnson looks like a big fish in a small pond..

I think Johnson is in the best form of those three at the moment, he's really stood up for Sunderland in recent weeks, if they avoid relegation it's as much to do with him as it is Poyet. Johnson and Sterling for me, aside from that one good game Townsend hasn't done a lot.

Yet he did the job in the England side, Townsend, so now hes not flavour of the month he can be cast aside? Sterling is fine, but hes got nothing on Walcott and Walcott isn't even a lock to play when hes fit.
I'd be more excited by him if he wasnt one of the clone army of nippy little wingers England have produced in the past ten years who are all pace no product

I did say everyone bar Gerard if you read the rest of my post. I think his delivery is something we still need under certain scenarios.. He isn't hindering liverpools game today ,yet he has also provided world class deliveries from dead balls.sportform wrote:Well that's Gerrard out then. Have to laugh at Piers Morgan's twitter page.
What a day for Arsenal. Agree on Ozil (DZ I think). That's why Mourinho constantly substituted him for Madrid, he's either a star or distinctly average. He needs to step up in high pressure matches. As for Giroud, we knew his capabilities & limitations, just not good enough to lead Arsenal to a Championship.
Excellent performance from Liverpool. Manchester United won't be enjoying the score either.

Adam Johnson is too underrated. He should have been on the plane four years ago in South Africa. It didn't go for him at Man City.
I can remember watch Sterling play for the England at the World Youth Cup. He was easily England's best player and a huge threat to the opposition. I would have loved to have seen him play in the centre, no 10 position, in that tournament but because he is small and quick he got shoved out wide and was easier to defence against.
Ox and Lallana had good qualities but I don't see them winning a game for you the way Sterling, Johnson or Townsend could.

Sterling's end product is not good enough for me. Not a great finisher, not a great passer. I think he's good, but not England good. Hes like Lennon in the regard.
Townsend is very different to the English wingers, hes just a bad Bale clone. But, he was brilliant for England when he played so should be considered ahead of Sterling at the moment.
Can't have the argument that Sterling is "comfortable on the ball" but Johnson and Townsend aren't.

Overarting who..
Zaha, sterling, ox walcot are quality..
Townsend is the most overrated . But he has done the business.
But a fit dyer allways get a game over him at totenham..
We have talent there no doubts.. as well as left back. The problem is every other position

Could Arsenal cost Man u the chamoions league? Liverpool are 4th and just beat Arsenal to move 10points clear of man u. If Arsenal beat man u next week and liverpool beat fulham then liverpool will be 13 points clear of man u.
Man u's chances of getting top 4 are being destroyed by Arsenal.

No, true have a look back at recent international tournament winning squads or even those who went deep into the tournament and see how many of them had 3 unproven (at cl level never mind international level) in the side.
