Inside the complicated mind of Tyson Fury
Pretty decent and interesting article by Ben Dirs on the Beed today:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/26153811
Frank and humorous interviews like this make me really warm to Tyson, here's a few snippets:
At least Tyson Fury is honest. Searingly so. About his mood swings, his attitudes to women, his Romany heritage, his public persona, his religious beliefs. In fact, you can ask Fury pretty much anything and he will furnish you with a reply.

Frank and humorous interviews like this make me really warm to Tyson, here's a few snippets:
TF wrote:My wife gets treated right and she thinks I'm a nice person. I'm not a woman, but to be married to a handsome man like me - a stallion - must be a good feeling
BD wrote:But so it is with Fury, who has a relationship with his Twitter account such as others have with their psychotherapist.
TF wrote:"I'm an all-action man in anything I do. If I'm drinking, I'm drinking until I can't stand up any more. If I'm going out for Chinese, I'm going to an all-you-can-eat Chinese. If I'm eating cake, I'm eating the whole cake. I don't know what you'd call me - an idiot, maybe?"
TF wrote:The portrayal of the traveller community in the mainstream media, with its obsessive and exploitative focus on 'big fat' celebrations, also gets his blood up.
"You wouldn't have 'big fat Pakistani weddings' or 'big fat black weddings'," says Fury, who currently resides in a house in Morecambe, Lancashire.
BD wrote:You can never tell what Fury is thinking but at least he tells you if you ask. Those boys in suits at our governing bodies and football clubs could learn a thing or two.

I don't know if it is just me, but that is one of the funniest things I have read in ages.

Ben Dirs writes a good article it's a pity he doesn't brush up on his boxing knowledge. There isn't a lot of balance in his articles, he has always had his favourites and he generally goes down the populist road.

Against all my better instincts I quite like Fury. Don’t care for the homophobic guff he comes out with but too many sports stars now are PR managed and massaged to the point of utter tedium, as anyone who has listened to an interview with a footballer will know only too well. Is kind of nice to listen to someone who appears completely unworried by such concerns and appears to filter absolutely nothing.

Yet if you were sat on a bus/train next to someone spouting that guff, you'd move seats or tell them to shut up...you wouldn't start chucking money at them and giving them the chance to win the most glittering prize in sport.Rowley wrote:Against all my better instincts I quite like Fury. As for being "inside the complicated mind of Tyson Fury", I reckon the most complicated thing in Fury's head is figuring out which end of the spoon he should use to eat his Coco Pops

Beeb is rarely free from bias. Look at its refusal to broadcast the Palestine charitable appeal. Or its consistent left-bias on N&CA items.

Ha, Fox is HILARIOUS! Genuinely see it as a comedy channel. Guys like BOR are just laughable - John Stewart destroys him.
Beed has a strong and respected heritage, though I'd note that the BBC World service is basically a separate business and not tax-payer funded therefore a different thing to what is being criticised for bias domestically.

Jon Stewart.
Sean Hannity is the worst presenter on Fox. That guy needs to be shot by one of the gun wielding maniacs he so loves.

I read this article at lunch at work. Comedy gold. The man has some serious issues. I don't particularly like him but I do find him good for boxing. Never a dull moment and most of his fights though lacking skill don't lack for talking points.

The man's a character... Whichever interpretation of the word you wish to take.
Whilst I see Dave's perspective, he's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. There are certainly times where engaging brain before mouth ( I suspect he does actually own the former as well as the latter) might save him from himself but hey, that's not his way.

I'd much rather listen to Frochs warrior crap than anything Fury would say, why do people tolerate such a classless, talentless and brainless fool.

Thankfully I have both talent and a brain, for Fury it's an unholy trinity of incompetence.

Hope Hammer wasn't around Morecambe on Sunday.
British boxer Tyson Fury has been left "devastated" after his home was targeted by arsonists while he was away training for a big fight.
Fury's home was empty with wife Paris and children Venezuela and Prince away at his training camp in Cannes when his cars and home were attacked.
Fire crews and police rushed to the scene after a call at around 8.35pm on Sunday to find that Fury's £12,000 Volkswagen Passat had been torched in his driveway.
His BMW estate had also been targeted by the culprit, who pounced with the boxer away from his home in Morecambe.
Peter Fury, Tyson’s trainer and uncle, said: "Tyson is devastated. It’s absolutely crazy. Somebody could have got hurt.
"We don’t really know the extent of the damage because we’re not there, although Tyson has spoken to the fire brigade.
"It might be up to £20,000 worth of damage."

Re: Inside the complicated mind of Tyson Fury
Proper bar stewards whoever did that. Complete bell ends.
Re: Inside the complicated mind of Tyson Fury
Like others I do find myself liking him when I see him talking, some of stuff is dreadful but a bit like Prince Phillip who you excuse because he's old with Tyson you kind of let it go because he's a bit of a dick.
Credit should go to his family though, must be the most interestingly named family in the Country, Tyson and Paris with their kids Venezuela and Prince.... That even beats Bob Geldof.
Hope he manages to get a strap and wonder how many kids he'll need before he runs out of stupid names and has to call one of them John or something.

How many people do this though Truss, he would have probably fought for free at the time as he hadn't won it. Ali would have probably fought Liston for free but wouldn't have continued to defend it for free.
Most boxers start out for legacy but once they have won something / start to dislike the politics of the sport they start to change their mind about the importance of legacy / money.

Bob's not that unusual a name.
Bet Tyson's tweets are great when he talks about his family "venitswaila, err vennerswayler, err my luvvly dawter." Bet he calls her 'V', which is also his answer if anyone asks him what the capital of Venezuela is. The question 'where's Venezuela?' Gets 'next to Paris'. Bet he's great at the trivial pursuit.

Yeah, we were going to call our kids after the place we had sex, my first child 'in the vagina' is really like me yet 'up the arse' doesn't look like me at all.

'Up the arse' was an unusual conception huw, from a biological stand point.

Dave has been reading up on Jimmy Saville ???..

I think Fury has been watching too many Ali videos whilst forgetting Ali was actually talented and intelligent.

That is a disgrace. He's going to have bigger moobs than James Toney and all the movement of an oil tanker.
I can see Fury hitting the canvas again; Joey Abell is no great fighter but he can bang a bit. Fury will probably win but only after a scare. Or a premature stoppage.
