Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
First topic message reminder :
Not sure what's going to happen in t his game..
More bothered about watching what Ox can do again..
Its not a forgone conclusion for me.
I do think Moyesball is pretty decent against possession teams..

First of all, all I said was it was a rubbish celebration, and all of a sudden I'm accused of personally insulting Fat Frank,
I don't really care if he, you, or anyone else did find it insulting, you don't have a right to not be insulted, I think it's out of date given how long ago it was since she died. Similarly, showing some sort of public deference is simply tacky.
Do you point to the ceiling when you cross the theshold at work to honour those people you know who died? Of course you don't, people would think you are mad
I know the baby swinging is only done by those who have newborns, I was saying that Fat Franks continued "heaven pointing" (as if there is such a thing) is comparable to doing baby swinging when the kid is 5.
I agree with you, and not for the first time.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
can someone please enlighten me as to what Fellaini actually does?
In this game he has missed the target completely when I could've tested the keeper, he's tried to con a throw in, picked the ball up when he went down and headed a ball out of play when there was nobody behind him to defend against

Januzaj is getting bullied in this game. He needs to skin his marker just once and he'll have the upper hand for the rest of the game

Still better than Cleverley. Fellaini looks nothing like the player he was at Everton though and I don't know why. Maybe it's just lack of match fitness

Disagree, I'd rather have Cleverley. Fellaini is slow and clumsy, even if nothing else Cleverly is energetic and will run and run and run

You know, I think the referee's got that one spot on. I thought it was a dive outside the box at first but it was definitely a foul and a pen. van Persie'll miss it though - give it to Mata!!

It's nice to see Glenn Murray back playing. That was a nasty injury he suffered, wasn't it?

So that's what 300k a week gets you, says a lot about our wingers when Evra is the most dangerous wide player we have.

I'm one of the few who rates him quite highly, think the problem has been the chopping and changing positionally, same for Jones. The Special Juan wrote:I'll give Smalling credit where it's due and say he's been superb defensively today.

I like Smalling but don't see him as a full-time RB as he's a bit slow. Agree with what you're saying though.

Still lacked a bit of control in the final third, preferred the set up of the team trying to be more patient instead of banging in cross after cross. The quietest i've seen Januzaj all season, didn't get much of the ball and was a bit pedestrian in his thought process when he did receive it.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
Januzaj is just being shown for what he is. Still young & learning but in my opinion he's nothing truly spectacular that some people were creaming themselves over in the absence of certain United players. Once Mata joined, along with the return of RVP & Rooney, he looks a little lost & isn't a match for the quality these players bring. Playing with Young, Valencia & Cleverley heightened his talent too much in the eyes of some. I mean, I was hearing Januzaj & the words 'world class' only a month or two ago.......reality check.
As for United, professional job done. Big players back should see them have a strong finish. Will it be enough, not so sure with Liverpool being so strong. Love little Evra, works his socks off & a shame his United career will probably end in the summer.

Does it matter how long his mum has been dead for?super_realist wrote:Dolphin Ziggler wrote:I hate fat Frank, but even I won't insult the guy for a tribute to his mother
I wasn't insulting him, I was simply saying that his celebration is crap, especially considering his mum died YEARS ago. It's like one of those dreadful baby swinging celebrations still being done when the kid is five.
Is there a time limit when you are supposed to forget about the loved ones you have lost?
How is it a crap celebration?

What I will say is after today, but really on the balance of the whole season, Mark Noble never having had a call up is a mystery. Hes learned all that Parker could teach him and combined it with the West Ham way, the kind of qualities Carrick was taught. Makes our whole team work and continuously saves it at the back.

Only six points off Newcastle too now. We've been embarrassing recently, this should be a motivator for our side to start kicking on now. We've been in no man's land & become complacent for too long, now we face getting caught up by WHU.

Had us down to nick it 2-1.
We're a lot better away from home.
Can easily see us losing 2/3-0 as well though.

Yeah, Remy back from ban & Tiote is winning his fitness battle.
We haven't scored since Cabaye left, not sure how we will score three Westi at all. I can see a tight, lack of chances game in my opinion. I think SKY have put it on, hoping for the reaction to a possible Newcastle defeat & the rumoured sacking of Pardew.

Arsenal can score the wonderful goals against weak opposition, Wilshere's against Norwich or Giroud's today, however, against stronger sides it all breaks down. That second for Giroud is just gifted, just like against Southampton with Boruc. Shambolic defending.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
well I'll take it. Scrappy and a little disjointed by Chelsea, but Terry back made a real difference in defense for me (compared to West Brom), and I thought we created just about enough to deserve the win against a solid, well-organised Everton team (let's not forget they're doing pretty well themselves this year, so it's a good result).

This is not a problem John. Everyone keeps going on about our nightmare fixture list but we have 3 games of it left, Everton,Chelsea,Citeh. (don't include Spurs their Poopie ) if we can keep close with the leaders we're in with a good chance considering our run in

In fairness the hardest part of your run is still to come, losing to Liverpool and Bayern while drawing at home to United isn't going to instil massive confidence.

It's 3 games in a row HH, The only one that worries me is away to Chelsea to be honest, Citeh don't travel well & Everton id a difficult game but we do well up there.

I can't see you beating City whether it's home or away to be honest while Chelsea simply wont lose at home. If you manage to get six points from the games against Chelsea, City, Everton and Tottenham you've done well.

We're guaranteed at least 3 vs Spurs so id take a draw everywhere else tbh. Citeh are good dependent on Aguero seemingly. Negredo not been himself recently without his partner and then there is demichelis who is just abysmal so we have a chance at the emirates not been conceding many at home to english clubs recently.

One of the positives of tomorrow is I can watch Norwich Tottenham and be happy whatever happens. I want the whiny ones to take at least a point, but if Norwich win I can laugh too.
