Flower set to replace Fletcher as India coach--BCCI sources
Oh My Gawwd.....This is my worst nightmare coming true. I wish Eng had retained Flower
We are importing another nation's problem home.
imagine Dhoni + Flower combo.....dead defensive morose , picking 5 trundlers for their batting and playing for a draw from D1.
I hope supreme court of India takes a strong step on IPL fixing issue..... and Dhoni is gotten rid off.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) is all set to make crucial changes in the national team's support staff following their dismal show on alien turfs recently.
According to the HT report, the Indian cricket board is all set to reshuffle Team India's support staff including the sacking of coach Duncan Fletcher.
The report suggest that the BCCI have held a round of talks with former England coach Andy Flower - who is likely to replace Fletcher as the new Indian coach.
"Nothing has been finalised as these are preliminary talks with the Board likely to invite applications from suitable candidates for the post next month," a source in BCCI told HT.
"Routine process would be followed before handing the responsibilities to the new coach. But so far, Flower has been contacted and let's see who win the race," he said.
India suffered a fourth successive Test series defeat abroad after their 0-1 loss to New Zealand in the two-match rubber which ended on Tuesday.
India have now lost 10 of their last 12 Tests abroad - the other two were drawn - a record that included two successive 0-4 whitewashes in England and Australia.
Fletcher, whose contract was extended for a year in March 2013, alongside the Indian skipper MS Dhoni has attracted a lot of criticism following their team's slump in form.

Flower wanted to only manage one format to spend more time with family...so i doubt he would take over a high profile job like India.

or so it was told to the media..after he was cut out from the shorter formats...
The money and stardom that India is able to offer even for short IPL coaching assignments is mind boggling.......a full Indian coaching assignment.......2 years commitment 5 Million dollars in the bank........is worth taking some troubles.

Hope Flower gets to spend some real quality time with his family while teaching leadership and man management skills to upcoming English cricketers.

Cricinfo's report suggest that the BCCI has no plans of replacing Flecher though his contract is getting over in a month or so. The Asia Cup and the World T-20 result also might have a say in the eventual course of the decision. Dhoni is out of the Asia Cup with a said strain, and without one of the best ever ODI batsman, India go in to the tournament with a massive disadvantage. Yet, if Virat Kohli could pull off some magic, the push to put him in charge of the side might get a further push, but they won't do it untill the world cup. And Flecher too will be safe with a good result. But if the results aren't great, it might be dificult for Flecher though Dhoni is unlikely to lose his job before the World Cup. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/current/story/721077.html

reports are also emerging that Dhoni's has been refrained from playing until Supreme Court decides an action on the match fixing issue ( whihc is subjudice) where he is reportedly named.....or alternatively completely drops the issue.
A lot of near future fate of Srinivasn, BCCI, Dhoni and consequently India depends on how Supreme Court deems appropriate the next action on this subject.

BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel called the reports of Flower being sounded out as 'Rubbish'.

I got the impression Flower was pretty burnt out. Taking a high pressure job like India a month after he left England seems somewhat unlikely

this mutiny charge led by Prior was the one that united the team to give the adverse report against Flower ( presumably to Downton)
may have led to the end of KP also.......

the point is sense of power and money is good enough a reason to take the hiheg pressure assignments.....and Flower is not voluntarily walking away from Eng assignment

Tbh I've had the feeling for a while that Flower was feeling the strain. Never say never, but I get the sense he'd take a year or so.
