Yes, well played Ireland. What a match. So relieved that's over and the result was good. Gotta do the same against the Welsh now...

This game shows how hard it is to win a grand slam in the 6N.

A right battle, we can only blame ourselves for not having that in bag earlier. We were pretty easy throughout, Ireland hardly threatened but that bloody choke defence caused us loads of problems.

Interesting Launchbury moved to six given that Bomber once started Lawes there. Presumably his role as lineout caller kept him in the second row.

Fk sake Ireland.
Would like to think if we had been given the penalty which we should have it would have been a draw, (give johnny the credit that he would have scored).
Fair play to England.
We're still in the hunt for the title.
Need to put a big win on Italy.

Mike Brown is more than deserved of the MoTM, fantastic effort from him and he really showed that he is the best 15 in the 6N.

Some massive hits in that game; great commitment from both sides. Is that two seasons in a row England have kiboshed Ireland's slam hopes?

Well Done England and well played Brown. At the risk of sounding like a bad loser I dont think Joubert did Ireland any favours. Determined not to card England players or award Ireland a deserved penalty in the end.

Second game in a row, Sextons kicking from hand was the difference between the two teams.
We now have to go after Italy in a big way- points difference will be so important.

When Ireland score their try i thought they was going to run away with it.
Well played England a great game, it was so tight in the end. Agreat qame for England played 3 won 2 looking good for the game against Wales.
No Grand Slam this year for any team but the championship still to play for.

And as I expected, England carry the day.
Should have won by a bigger margin, but inexperience let England down at crucial attacking moments.
The forwards battle was ferocious and even - well done to England for holding their own. Surprised Ireland didn't try the maul more often.
English defence immense, and just that bit better.
What an eighty minutes for the continued growth of England.
Well done England.
What a Championship now!

Mike Brown is properly world class though. Easily the best 15 in the NH.

It was hard watching Sexton totally crumble out there. His kick out on the full from the restart completely changed things.

I was thinking the opposite, Joubert gave us nothing at the breakdown all game. The amount of times we were in your 22 and you turned it over (rightly or wrongly....I thought wrongly on numerous occasions).
There's also the cheating for the Ireland try!

Mate you've aggressively backed your team all week and now blame the ref?
England battled hard, Many of your players made too many errors.

He has gone massively off the boil since he left Ireland. I was calling for Paddy Jackson on 60mins because I thought that he would see Ireland home.

Tight tight game. Well done both sides. Defences were largely on top but it's still rugby.
It doesn't mean squat if we have a repeat of last year in the next game.

Sexton was urine poor, Jackson would have been an improvement.

Joubert at twickenham...
So why did he let Ireland stop an English try by tackling May around the head and let POC obstruct Launchberry for the Ireland try?

Re: England vs Ireland, Part 2
Love the fact that we kept feicking the scrum up but still won.. A commentator mentioned if we did that we couldn't win,,
yeah lol..
36 isn't in top form which only gives me more hope for when manu replaces him.. It will be like having two extra players.
well done England.
i know Ireland will be gutted but they played well. Home advantage won us the fame. Nothing in the teams..

As said need to put a score on Italy.
France v Scotland & England v Wales will be interesting games.
We're still top and in the driving seat. Good points difference.

Re: England vs Ireland, Part 2
What I don't get is why have an out-half on the bench if you going to let your 10 play badly for a full 80!!! If Schmidt doesn't have confidence in his bench out-half, then he's not handling training camp very well.
Pretty furious about Sexton.
All that had been good about Trimble was nullified because Sexton gave him NOTHING to pressurise/challenge.

Geordie not blaming the ref. It was a tight match. Farrell deserved a yellow for a shoulder charge and Lawes deserved a yellow for blatant hands in the ruck and in at the side in most mauls. There was also a hand in the scrum that he missed. Joubert is a homer and for key calls he bottled it.
That said we always knew he would so it would have been factored in from the start and therefore Ireland came up short. Simpke as that.

Congrats, England
Gutted at the loss. Great defence from England, and some very poor errors from Ireland lost us the game.
Still all to play for. Onwards and upwards.

Good Lord... I'm actually breathless after watching that!
How on earth we won that with the pasting we were getting in the scrum!
Brilliant game. End to end stuff either team could have won that.
Commiserations Ireland.

Re: England vs Ireland, Part 2
As I said at the start, if this was in Ireland then Ireland would have won. Home ground saw England home today. Two very equal sides.
I must admit to thinking that Ireland may sneak it after the Chilli try but England came back the stronger side and are more than deserved winners.
To the English fans, great game today and good luck with the triple crown, your team were excellent today.

Not too bothered about the Championship; only the bigger picture. Which looks a heck of a lot brighter today.
Ireland should win it, barring a slip-up in Paris.
May getting tackled around the head, and Launchbury being obstructed for Ireland's try escape your attention?
