erm yeah odd one that.
Most irish consider you are irish if you have 1% irish blood- and where you live is immaterial.
By the way I am very much in the camp that Genes mean zip all.. Its where you live or have lived is all that matters

Thanks. Looks like the Irish Times have been hard at work trawling scrum.comGunsGerms wrote:Cyril wrote:I'm not disputing those percentages but where's the source?

Let's turn this around. If Ireland had won in Dublin against England with Joubert as the ref and any English fan brought up the 'homer' tag I think you would be all over them like a rash calling 'sour grapes'.
It's not about being 'needy' but some of your comments are rather ingracious. Some of that might come from you being very confident prior to the game (you knew who the ref was then too).

No I wouldnt Cyril. The point I'm making all along is that the Ireland team would have accounted for it, they still came up short. I think Joubert is in particular a homer but a lot of refs are to some extent. Its frustrating when in the last few minutes your team is chasing the game and you have legitimate claims for a penalty for example but you know you arent going to get it.
That might seem like sour grapes to you but it is a reality in rugby as far as Im concerned.
I make no apologies for being "very confident prior to the game". I believed my team would win, I think they formulated the right game plan but the execution was not good enough on the day particularly from key man Sexton.

Guns for Fofana, replace with Fickou. Not many teams could replace Fofana like for like but Fickou might turn out even better than the injured one. Losing Parra is massive.
Whatever individuals are in the team they put out, I'll believe we can beat them because they haven't yet played as a team.

Wrong mystir. Most people with 1% Irish blood consider themselves Irish. Subtle difference and proves the Pretend Irish Americans thing you were on about earlier. We'll take it as a compliment that the Irish drop is the one they want to shout about.

Fickou is a outside centre though isnt he? Id rater France lose Fofana than Fickou or Basterau to be honest. Fickou is class though.

This kid is talented enough to play 12, 13- actually a very similar player to Fofana. With a big ball carrier in Basteauread at 13 then a pacy, skilful player like Fickou would be the ideal choice at 12.
I'm also more confident that Fofana is probably out, because at least they won't drop that useless big heffalump they call an outside centre for Fickou when he's needed at 12! Also, Fickou is a danger player coming off the bench for them so either way it's still good news.

it's frustrating when he doesn't see a more clear penalty for a high tackle. We score then and it may have been a big win. He didn't deliberately make mistakes.

Most English students probably have the genuine 1% in them. They're qualified to think it's only the Gunness making them believe they are

England
In that order make up the largest % ancestry of the American population so plenty of opportunity to trawl through failed NFL players for Stu and Joe.
Also I wonder why I've heard the terms Irish American and African American but never German American or English American. You really have so much in common (not least DNA).

Irish aren't fussy about processes as long as it's drink. The idea was that we like potato Vodka?... I say that's a very complex way to get drunk for an Irish man. He'll take any route.

Being "German" anything became very unpopular due to the first world war. Hence the Germanic Royal family changed their name.
The English are universally unpopular - so few admit to their English heritage. If Hollywood want a villain it's a fair bet the part will be given to someone with a British accent.

Someone wants a villain and he's English?
That's a pretty ancient idea at this point. The Americans have a love-affair going with the English - but...well, Pierce losing his job might be the beginning of a backlash from the mid-western natives. Afterall, they are getting to feel that nothing is sacred no more.
Batman was English
Spiderman was English
Most 'Americans' in movies now are British doing the accents.
It's gotta stop!! It'll be the Boston Tea Party all over again.

putin is an irish process of making homemade feick yourmind up alcohal which can be made from anything and everything
Mystir, mystir, mystir............... the taunt was about Irish people drinking Potato Vodka. Keep with me here now. I say why would Irish people have to drink Potato Vodka for the sake of a cliche about spuds and alcohol as they both relate to Ireland? Why would we have to think Vodka? So I said - nope, if you want to do the racial stereotyping, stick to the full on cliche...call it Poitín.
Now, that's the spirit!

Hollywood villians are always from the last place the US went to war with.
germany->Russia->Arabs/Muslims etc. Not that many English villans. Though lots of top shows seem to have a token english person for some reason.
Friends, Mad Men, Suits etc.

Well actually batman was welsh...but the guy who beat him up even though he had dodgy knees was English though. Talk about stereotyping.
