Isn't the Irish 'look' more dark haired with blue eyes ala Donnacha O Callaghan ? Though his eyes are rather far apart... I think if you merged him with Sexton it would balance the pair out some
Do English people have eyes on the side of their head or something?
Its where their heads are thats the problem

Some French folk have them at the end of their fingers.

No, they carry them in a Louis Vuitton bag.
Anyway, as I've outlined. Don't blame English people for Super-Not-Scot. He's a Scot - not. But do bring his 'surprise' appearance up of course with that lurking Englishman Mysti.

His grandmother (Diana's mother) was a Burke-Roche from Cork (Barony of Fermoy). So basically, using the granny rule, he is a Munsterman.

I notice he seems to have the charm of the Irish with the girls. They line up for him so they do.

All Gingers are so sworn to do so. It's ancient Munster tribal rites. Too complex to explain here.

Hmmm - strange that the dreaded red pen warning only arrived three days after a game that had no red pens or bans in the two weeks leading into the game - and that it was prompted by a Golfing aficionado who was coaxed here to cause fuss.
Guess he caused it if a red pen warning showed up.
Sad that the thread was tarnished that way - I think the stuff/fuss was being handled well within the structure of all responses from all posters.

i blame any banter recently on the complete and utter boredom of the england v wales thread. jeez. i'd rather watch pain dry in a steam room than spend any more time on that thread. The welsh have completely declined to engage.

Guns why do you take so much false offence- I didnt even start the pootato talk- yet i got blasted for it- after just continuing on from someone suggesting to become an Irishman you must first eat a pound of spuds
I mentioned the sensitivity of posters on this forum in shock to some others on a golf forum and that was that.
Bilt doesn't want to over mod- this place was fine- Did anyone see me take offence to the tarquin nonsense.. Did anyone have a pop at that poster!!

Basically Mystiroakey thought it would be great fun to invite one of his friends who is a known hibernophobe from the golf forums who has no interest in rugby to come along and stir sh1t on Irish rugby threads and make xenaphobic comments. Thats when it all went downhill.

Irish soil is extremely fertile and produces some excellent potatos, this is not something to mock or take offense at - glens of antrim grown potatoes I would recommend highly and hope the Irish team do indeed eat a healthy amount of these.
In truth though, I do have to admit that the potatoes grown in Spain are vastly superior or Irish ones.

Re: England vs Ireland, Part 2
Sorry to go off topic - this isn't about spuds - what happened to Sexton?
His kicking out of hand against Wales was scarily accurate. His long kicks always found a good touch and his kicks put up to be chased were beautifully weighted. Against England they were pretty random. Too short for decent position and too long for a proper chase.
Was it just a bad day at the office? It happens to everyone I guess.
Was he under greater pressure to get the kicks away (I'd like to think so, but I don't think he was)?
I reckon that if he'd been as on song as he was against Wales, England would have lost.

no in all honesty the only reason i mentioned it was because if you notice the post he made just previously to the one i made he actually decided to mention the irish and potatoes as a joke to our fellow poster incont(who is also irish but he can deal with it and dsoiesnt take offence)
so as it was so topical- my comment was pretty off the cuff and it had no real intentions behind it...
but SORRY if it caused an issue.
shall we leave it know because I have no issue with anyone on here.. I dont want to escalate anything. Its been good fun on the whole..

Perhaps he felt more pressure playing away from home. He can be pretty inconsistant anyway. He also has a thumb injury. Not sure that that would have had any effect though.

Yeah I agree, he didn't execute as well as in the previous two games but then this game was played at a much higher pace and intensity than the others.
I thought he was ok but both he and Murray were too long with their kicks - I thought we'd have targeted Newell and May more but everything seemed to go to Brown and didn't give the chasers enough chance to challenge.

Gameplans colliding with each other I'd reckon. England were always going to be a different kettle of fish to Wales for two or three reasons. 1 - was that they were at home and they have a good record there. 2 - they're a very good team - the most complete looking one in this competition. 3 - they had their forewarning about what kind of form Ireland were in this year - so they could plan how to tackle it.
Schmidt is familiar with a good number of players and less so with others who he trying to get up to speed on his plans and strategies. There were a number of things tried against England that didn't come off because of that 'beginningness' of Ireland right now. Lancaster has had two years, Schmidt is in his forst months. Confusion in the ranks at times. But also - Sexton did look like he was affected by a knock for most of the second half. He looked a tad out-of-it.
Anyway, for all that - 3 points down at Twickenham with lots to work on isn't a bad result.

Yes - please don't think I'm knocking Sexton - it was just the difference between the two games was quite stark.
Close marginal stuff all over.
Was the most tense England game I've seen in a long time. Good, competitive, clean (okay Farrell was a twonk - largely clean then) blistering pace and great intensity.
I am delighted we scraped through. I just hope we can steal enough of Ireland's playbook to turn over Wales!
