Least he didnt give up the ghost. You could say hes busted it, in fact.
Great day for my predictor, bankered Spurs, predicted 1-1 in the Palace game and had Villa too.
Always feel like Norwich are scared of turning corners

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
You have to admire the media for making up crap
Speaking at the Sloan Sports Analytics Conference over the weekend, John W Henry said, when asked how Suarez was potentially key to Liverpool’s future plans: ‘Luis Suarez is the top scorer in the English Premier League, which is arguably the top soccer league in the world.
‘He had a buyout clause of £40m. Arsenal, one of our prime rivals – this year we’re tied for second … we’re actually second because of goal difference.
‘They offered £40m plus £1. What we’ve found … is that contracts don’t seem to mean a lot in England – actually, in world football.
‘It doesn’t matter how long a player’s contract is, he can decide he’s leaving.
‘We sold a player, Fernando Torres, for £50m, that we did not want to sell, we were forced to.
‘Since apparently these contracts don’t seem to hold, we took the position that we’re just not selling.
As usual i suspect the media are making up crap or the PFA need a better lawyer as they said no clause existed.

I knew we would sneak something from Swansea
You could tell pulis was all over the tactics of swansea with all his tactical talk all week
Great result for us. Because they have been playing decent and its a tough away game for us.
We have a game in hand as well.

The thing that pulis is probably not praised enough for is not his tactical defencive nouse - its the way he maximises the players he has.. This is why i brought up the fact that given a better group of players he could do very well at a top club.. He is one of the most clinical (almost) boring talking managers out there- yet he knows his job and the players also knows there job for him and play exactly the way he wants them to..
He is a man manager when his personality suggests he may not be..
Palaces biggest plus is MURRAY back.. Oh yes now he has scored one - i wouldn't put it past him to score 1 in 2 for palace from here on in- He could be a huge difference in the relegation battle

What a cracking job Pulis is doing at Palace. Ok, not tough act to follow really in Holloway but it just shows that he knows what it takes to manage a premier league club. His brand of football get's slated but he organizes his teams superbly and get's them playing out of their socks.
Also think Palace bought well in the jan transfer window. As a welsh fan I'm pleased to see Ledley in the prem. Very good player who did well for Celtic in the CL, will fit in well in the prem. Hopefully Joniesta can get a few more games next season when he's back fit.

Sorry Myst, Pulis is a small club manager through and through. His style wouldn't cut it at a bigger club. Think Moyes but a fair bit worse.
It's one thing being plucky underdogs, it's another when you're expected to put teams to the sword. Nought wrong with it from a Palace perspective mind

I dont really want to get into this again. But what is very evident is that palace are performing like a top 12-9 team since pulis has been at palace- if we had him at the start we probably wouldn't be in the relegation fight.
The players play for him.. The players arnt playing for Moyes. yes big egos are much harder to deal with i understand that..
But it really is only speculation to say that he couldn't perform at a better club

That's the thing though Myst, at Everton the players ran through brick walls for Moyes. Nothing against Pulis, but Palace is about the right level for him.

Its a shame Williams isn't really performing though. I was really looking forward to him playing this season in the prem.

You can use Stoke as an example really as well. He couldn't develop and improve them ultimately despite some pretty decent funding. Hard to sell him as a guy who could hack at a big club when he couldn't develop Stoke.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
Can't believe what I witnessed at Villa Park today. Well I can because its us, but I've never seen such an utterly clueless display of management in my lifetime.
I'm still in shock.
Frak hughton, single handedly destroying the three of the most successful years this club has seen, with his ridiculously inept tactics and management, which he will not for the life of him waiver from.
Spineless, gutless, pathetic manager. And our board are gonna let him take us down after such good work to get us up in the first place.
I've got more to vent, but I'll do it when I'm calmer. Which might be next year

Its got to the point where today the only player who looked like he wanted it and played well, is the player who the manager has misused and wants to leave desperately!
Still had fun laughing/taking the p!ss out of us in the second half.

As for going down i am still pretty sure Fulham and Cardiff are going down. Then either West Brom, Sunderland, Palace or Norwich. West Brom most likely.
