Best Boxing Bet
What's the best boxing bet you've ever had?
I bet £25 on Andre Ward to win the Super Six at 10-1 (to be fair, I almost backed Andre Dirrell as I liked the odds). I wanted to bet £50 but had stuck an annoying deposit restriction on the account.
I also landed a parlay consisitng of Groves to beat Anderson, Haye to kayo Audley and Pacquiao to beat Margarito on points that netted around £300. Nearly swallowed my tongue when Groves hit the deck.
I'll not mention the losing bets.....

Re: Best Boxing Bet
Probably this weekend - betting a tenner on Salido to beat Lomachenko at just over 5/1.
Thought Loma was better, and scored the fight to him as it happens, but the odds were out of whack with logic and the value too good to miss.

Only ever bet on City to lose...........That way I've got some crumbs of comfort If they don't win..
and It's worth the loss of funds If they win..
Boxing odds.............Not generous enough.....

Most individual sports attract bad odds. Snooker and tennis for instance generally follow the rule that the favourites get to the semi-finals.

Betting against Murray must be quite rewarding lately then..

I did the exact same thing. Identical stake and identical logic behind putting the bet on. Crazy odds for someone of Salido's experience and skillset.

Re: Best Boxing Bet
ita all about the in-play betting. you can regulalry win money on tennis by betting live and getting money on both guys at the right time. Buckland was as high as 10/1 against Rees at one point the other week

acked Salido too but put him in a Burns double so didn't win a bean. Had Kovalev Ko 4 over cleverly and price to be Ko'd in 5 against Thompson. £150 back for each I think or something similar.
The return isn't normally worth bothering in boxing apart from round betting so I stick to football.

Had Prescott to KO khan in rounds 1-3. 12-1 the odds where. Had £20 on that.
The next best one was Khan to stop Barrera between rounds 4-6, odds were 9-1 and had £30 on that. Apart from that I had a lump on Bradley to beat Marquez at 6-4 as it was too good to turn down that price

Re: Best Boxing Bet
surprised they paid out on khan to stop barrera. was determined a TD. most bookies dont pay out for stoppages in such cases. i know different bookies have different rules though. something you have to be aware of if you make large bets.

Re: Best Boxing Bet
I had David Haye to stop Harrison; rounds 1-3, placed a good bet on that. Obviously that is not a great upset but the odds were good if I remember correctly. Backed George groves to win against DeGale at 3/1, mostly because I did not like Degale and took a small punt.

£600 on an 8 fight card. It was the weekend that Shane Mosley drew with Sergio Mora. I was expecting £2.4k back but that fight got wiped from my card and they paid out on the other 7 fights. Ended up with £1.8k. Was happy to get that in my account considering I figured the bet was down

Had £20 on Ricky Burns by KO/TKO againt Gonzalez @ 16/1 couldn't believe it when he quit. Only done it cause I had got my stake back earlier that day on a football bet.

Re: Best Boxing Bet
That's a good one Alan, Burns on points against Evensen was one I jumped on. The bookies where giving money away on that think it was 5-2 for points. They had Ricky at crazy short price to win by stoppage and given his lack of power anything over evens for a burns points win when he's fighting an Evensen type is well worth a few quid!!

Not that I am aware of Strong! Were they not the correct results? I did put a few quid for haye to KO wlad, mistakenly clearly but thought it worth a shot. Prizefighter live betting can be very entertaining.

You must be right mate! Issue with this phone, apologies.
On to froch and groves; iam going for froch KO/tko again. May just leave it at that, can't decide if early or late yet, that may change closer to fight night.

Going to stick a few quid on Angulo by EKO or Canelo by late cant see it going the distance and think Angulo will try jump on Alvarez early.

I dumped £350 lastnight on Alvarez fight so trust me, it's easily done. Took the 12/5 decision bet because the value was too good. Backfired.

Trying to find this weeks matchroom card and try to get an accumulator going as it looks an easyish one to predict but cannot find odds anywhere?

Rumor has it that my father in law bet £100 at 100/1 that Jabby's Grandpa would knock over Joe Frazier whilst in sparring for the Fight of the century..
The rest as they say is history..

Seriously can anyone find where to bet for this weeks upcoming Matchroom Card, could make a fair bit on it
Bellew to win
Brook to win
Fielding to win
Robbie Davis Jr to win
Paul smith to win
Kevin Mitchell to win
Could probably get decent odds for all those on an accumulator and don't see how any of them loses barring something catastrophic.

They'll be out later in the week but you'll lucky to land an evens bet (they're all fighting puddings aren't they?)

Yeh, I accy'd about 4 fairly sure bets and barely broke evens a year ago.
Boxing really is quite naff to bet on unless you see some serious value.

Do you reckon any bookies would be giving odds on Froch being an ungracious tw@t win, lose or draw against Groves?

Re: Best Boxing Bet
One of my favourite winning bets was when I had a few bob on Derry Matthews to KO Tommy Coyle.
Not the most surprising of results at the start of the fight, but the bet was quite big and the way the fight went, it was quite a rush when he caught him.

I have my fair share of horror bets too. And to be honest, most people thought Bute would do Froch beforehand
I bet the round on Haye to KO Ruiz, but that's always lucky when it comes off

Ha I remember that Shah, though part of it was surely to p!ss off TheMackemMawler (what happened to him). Remember the old post of
Donaire ko1 Rigondeaux.
We all ate humble pie on that night.
I said Rigo would be leading but at some point Donaire would catch him. Which nearly happened at least..

Na I genuinely believed Rigo wouldn't leg it - he showed too much openness and disrespect against substandard opposition - I thought the step up might be like Bute vs Froch. Instead he fought like his face was his livelihood and utilised his full talent.
