So your wife is with you, then she is not there for whatever reason, you hear a noise in the bathroom, the obvious thing is, she is in the bathroom. What logical reason would you then have to start shooting at the bathroom. No reason can that be an accident.

You might think to ask the person in the jacks if they are your wife before you blow their head off too.

He thought she was still in bed asleep. Obviously he was an idiot not to check and make sure, but he was on his stumps and felt vulnerable. post mortem shows she had empty bladder which indicates she was not running from an argument but simply going to the toilet.

Laugh Joking aside though, it seems everyone has condemned him already. As Incon says, he was on his stumps, it was dark and it was in South Africa. I know a couple of SA couples and they are reasonably well off, live in good districts but they all sleep within reach of firearms. Hindsight is wonderful thing - he should have checked but we weren't there were we?

More the symbology and insecurity of having to show who you support, rather than the garishness and sheer nastiness of the fabric, just as sad as those Brits on holiday draping their Union Jack over the balcony.

So, it must be the case that you wear no clothing, whatsoever, that has any visible logo at all eh? Nothing, nada. Your skiing kit has no visible logo(s)? Your running kit?? For that matter, your golf clubs? Etc etc. It's all brand advertising whether it be to a club, Country or manufacturer.

No you certainly am not. I wear polo shirts as a norm , for golf or not for golf, i wear fitted trousers for golf or on a normal day as much as i would also wear jeans on a regular day. I dont play golf in jeans - but i dont wear specific golf trousers.. And anyway- what is even wrong with them any way? Just normal trousers on the whole

Question: Is Vladamir Putin quite the macho a-hole he's appearing to be?

Do you think the Russians know what irony is? So much carp from the ethnic Russians of Crimea and from Putin et al about how they're simply fighting "fascism". What a bunch of w@nkers!
Does anyone find it ironic that they bang on about facism when, all the while, what they're doing is exactly what the arch-Facist, Hitler, did in the Anschluss and in the Sudatenland?

Idiots!! Macho, childish, cretinous idiots!

Yes Putin certainly seems like quite the tool. And they have announced the test launch of an ICBM today, which seems a little drastic, but probably more mind games than anything. Interesting to see how this develops.

On the flip side he's seen a country in which Russia has significant legitimate interest sign up to a deal that formalises the roadmap to possible political change requested/required by the opposition only for the same opposition to renege on it in 24 hours and depose the legitimately elected leader and insert someone else with little legitimate justification.

He's witnessed the US pretty much do whatever it wants, wherever it wants, whenever it wants with much more tenuous justification such as in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Whilst I do still think he's acting like a knob and potentially risking a significant international incident possibly war, I can see it's not all as clear cut as it is being made out in the media and the utter, outright condemnation by the "west" does smack somewhat of double standards.

As an aside, what Russia seems to be doing looks almost like the "salami tactics" discussed in Yes Prime Minister (The Grand Design) about when the PM would "push the button". Mildly amusing that the Russian Foreign ministry appears to be using 80's British comedy as a tactical plan! Maybe deploying Ronnie Corbett as a counter measure would suffice...

Maybe. Yanukovytch(sp?) and his cronies may have embezzled, what, $70bn? In any case, it's not Russia is it and it's not Putin's to put his clumsy oar into. I quite understand his interest in what sort of Ukraine comes out of this though, but that's a different thing.

You mention the U.S., Iraq and Afghanistan. I have no problem with your comment on Iraq but Afghanistan was a completely different kettle of fish. They happily hosted a nutty paramilitary group who'd just successfully flown three passenger jets into U.S. buildings, narrowly failed with a fourth and the ruling Taliban had basically told the U.S. to **** off in the aftermath. I don't recall anyone, at the time, saying the U.S. was wrong to go into Afghanistan.

Deploying Ronnie Corbett is bound to induce the Russians to go nuclear. It would be worth global destruction to stop it...

Mostly agree nbs, but we shouldn't forget that the Iraqi invasion was strictly gratuitous for political purposes only, when they should have been laying waste to Osama's refuge immediately.
As of course they started to do before they decided to divert the fire engines to Iraq instead when there was no fire there to be fought. Until the US lit the Baghdad Bonfire to ignite Bush's base.

Don't misunderstand me Kwini, I think the Iraq débacle is/was a disgrace, almost certainly illegal and I seriously hope I live to see that piece of mérde who is Bliar, in front of a Hague tribunal. Somehow, I doubt it but one can always hope!
Whomever came up with, and sold the idea of, Tony Blair as some sort of Middle East Ambassador must have suggested it as a joke while drunk and probably died laughing when that's essentially what happened. You couldn't make it up.

B-Liar somehow gave Bush/Cheney the credibility in the US that they needed, it somehow seemed to authenticate the whole vendetta against Iraq. He must have thought he was de facto President for a while - until the bullets really started to fly. Despicable.

The 9/11 terrorists mainly lived in Germany and the US. Maybe that's why Angela's phone is being tapped by Obama.

The irony about Crimea is that Putin heavily opposed when the West considered making a humanitarian intervention in Syria - depite tens of thousands being killed. He even had a full-pager in NY Times etc. decribing how wrong that would be. Now he is doing exactly the same in Crimea - for humanitarian purposes.
IMO Putin is a small man with a small d!ck. First Georgia, now "Sudentenland". Let NATO send the Germans to Crimea as peace keepers - they know the area...

-uck a duck,
I see Elena Baltacha has been diagnosed with liver cancer.
Not the sort of thing you expect to read about a recently retired athlete.
Scarcely surprising her form suffered the past couple of years.
Sounds grim, so good luck to, and great care for, her.

He did a great job for his union and if there were more out there like him, then all workers would benefit. Only power in the workplace will provide us with true democracy.
