Larry Olubamiwo
Things have just been going from bad to worse for 'The War Machine' since his comeback began. He looked poor in his Prizefighter return, is then soundly outboxed in the Sam Sexton rematch and his career probably received the final nail last weekend after being stopped in a round by Jamie Hearn, a former super-middleweight journeyman who until last weekend had been retired for the best part of a decade. It almost seems like something has been missing in his performances since he returned....
I suppose the upside is that, with his recent performances, we can be confident that he has most likely cleaned himself up.

I don't know what's more embarrassing, his comeback or that fact he has been licenced again so soon after taking pretty much every performance enhancing drug known!!

Re: Larry Olubamiwo
Although it would seem a bit silly to use Olubamiwo as any kind of measuring stick, but when assessing PEDS and their affect on a boxers performance this speaks volumes.
If you think of the use of PEDS in the way Olubamiwo previously did on one end of a continuum, with a clean living boxer on the other end, which 'presumably' he is now, then the results are clear and damn right astonishing.
Bearing in mind that in most mega money world level fights the difference between the 2 fighters is minimal, then even a fighter at the lower end of the continuum only taking a minimal amount then the effects are enough to seal a victory, especially if the fight was 50/50 before the use/misuse of PEDS.
For some fighters the difference between a win and a loss is making millions defending their new belt, or a 5 figure sum whilst climbing their way slowly back up the rankings. Don't agree with it, especially in boxing, but can see the temptation.
