Under-Over: Klitschko vs Leapai
How many clinches will we see in round one of Klitschko vs Leapai? If the bar's set at six, will the actual number be under or over?
Anyone brave enough to try and nail the actual number?

Is that under or over (sometimes I don't understand American slang)?

This bum managed to lose to Kingpin, even got dropped by him (!!), so unless Wlad drags it out to please the tv networks this shouldn't go more than four.
I'm going 'under'.

So, that's one under and one over (with the other guy gibbering in the corner).

I think under.
However, if Leapai isn't a complete chuckle monkey and is able to bulldoze his way under Wlad's guard, look for that number to reach double figures by round three. After that, look for a very unsatisfactory ending to the fight and the Wilder bandwagon to start rumbling again.

I think with this one we can legitimately say that Wlad is ducking any half decent boxer out there. That is a very small list, I'll grant you but Leapai isn't on it!! By the by, I have defended Wlad in the past for his choices, but this one is a bit ridiculous!! 28th in the world rankings.

Good point Truss, but do you see him making any offers either? I prefer the challenger to do the chasing, but even he has to be embarrassed taking on this opponent. At least if he offered Fury the fight and Fury turned it down, we would know where we are with this lump.

Re: Under-Over: Klitschko vs Leapai
Shut up...Fury said he'll clean out the B!tschko sisters and then beat the best HW from the future and then go back in time and beat up everyone and then go to an alternate universe where he can fight himself and beat himself up (I'd pay to watch that)
Fury wants it and he's gonna get it...if there's any justice in this crazy mixed up world...sorry, I've eaten quite a lot of chocolate biscuits in a short space of time.

Never seen Leapai box. Poor mans David Tua? Il go with the over in the first round but cant see this guy lasting the distance unless Klitschko is really on top stinker form.

Behop, Wlad is in control of his own fights far more than others. Povetkin was a mandatory I believe, so I am surprised if this one is as well. He does need to be a bit embarrassed. How am I suppose to ridicule Winchester accusing Wlad of ducking the all conquering (insert unproven heavyweight name here) when his opponent is not even in the top twenty.

Truss, he may be no worse, but really should be aiming to be much better. Wlad is an absolute stand out in a meager field. I just think this fight is beneath him.

Re: Under-Over: Klitschko vs Leapai
I do agree, but but present any fighter with an easy mandatory (which I am sure it is) which will make you a decent pay packet and surely they will take it.
I dont believe that Wlad is dodging anyone, if one of the up & coming fighters wants him, I think they will get him but as Trussman says, they arent interested.
To be honest, I dont know who there is out there that Wlad should fight

Pulev, Fury, Wilder, Stiverne and Helenius are about as good as it gets (until Joshua breaks through).

That has been my response for the last 18 months, Behop, so I appreciate where you are coming from. I just think that he has cross the line this time and descended into absurdity; like Calzaghe fighting Manfredo Jr.

I'm not in anyway saying this is anything but a ridiculous match-up. Just that Wlad is in a bit of a no win situation & I cant blame him for taking the mandatory given that.
I hope that Joshua is the real thing, he is the only one that has figured out that you can combine being in physical shape and have boxing skills, you dont need to pick one or the other!

He already did that against that Italian chump (who I bet no-one can recall without using google).

Didnt think you were, it did me as well. I had to Google Lepai if i'm honest which just adds to my frustration at what should be the pinnacle of our sport being in such a sorry situation.
To me though people too quick to blame the klits in my opinion, when in fact i think we should be grateful they are around. Never come in out of shape, have excellent boxing skills, represent our sport in the correct manner (possibly not big enough in the states) and generally take on all.
If the likes of Tyson Fury, Solis, Arreola, Stiverne etc etc etc showed half the dedication the Klits did, then the division would not be in such a sorry state
Dont think the Klits (or just Wlad now!) are perfect but in terms of dedication to the sport they are head and shoulders above the rest

There's not going to be a lot of clinches because I can't see it going long but if it did there would be a lot. Leapai is going to be rushing in time and time again, he's tiny compared to Wlad and will easily be caught flush and then tied up.

All good points which I have also made a number of times over the last 18 months. But with 2 of the last 3 fights he seems to have taken the easy way out. Povetkin was a real mandatory; unbeaten and rightly in the top 5. The others shouldn't have been in the ring. One easy fight I can let slip. But two begins to look like a trend. Given all that, the sport is better with Wlad than without him. The division may be more competative without him, but only in the sense that there isn't anyone anywhere near his level! So I don't want to see the whole division descend into mediocrity

leapai earnt his shot by beating the undefeated boystov which made him mandatory.
Leapai has beaten boystov which is a bigger name than anything wilder has beaten.

yeh i was shocked leapai beat boystov. I suppose if it was wlad v boystov most people would say it was a good match up but yet wlad v leapai (the guy who beat boystov) is being ridiculed by some.

Re: Under-Over: Klitschko vs Leapai
Leapai is a bum and only got this shot because Boystov screwed up a gimme fight, this defence is a meaningless embarrassment, though I wouldn't expect a faux-socialist commie-wannabe K-bot fan boy to admit that....

And Boystov would've been almost as rubbish a fight also, his best wins are Fury victim Maddalone and Dominic Guinn ffs!!
His record's as padded as Wilders, just without the destructive nature of the results.

Re: Under-Over: Klitschko vs Leapai
Well, he wants to have all the titles. So keep them all he will have to face the mandatory challengers.
This is the problem in boxing. A guy Like Ryan Rhodes was mando for two years before he finally got his shot. How long was Ajose mando for WBC title? Fans complain when that happens, yet when a guy like Wlad takes on his mando's, even if they are deemed rubbish, criticism is still there.
