According to Mark Wahlberg, the Transformers franchise is the most iconic franchise in movie history.

Personally, I don't agree with him. I think the Star Wars franchise is the most iconic.

What does everybody think?

Batman?
Harry Potter?
Jurassic Park?
Fast & Furious?
Indiana Jones?
Die Hard?

Appears that Wahlberg has been smoking crack!

The sheer sh*ttery of the last three films doesn't take away from the fact that Star Wars is far and away the most "iconic" film franchise.

Bond is a good shout, doesn't beat Star Wars though i'm afraid Truss.

for me star wars would be probably the most iconic even if half of them are turd.

personal favorite of mine would be lord of the rings, but then i was a big fan of the books as well

not as big a bond as most, there have only been a few decent for me, goldeneye and casino royale being my two favourites. most are terribly cheesy

batman is up there despite there being some shockers out there, first and returns were good and i loved nolans trilogy

some other decent ones i think that nobody has mentioned:

bourne
rambo
lethal weapon
godfather
back to the future
terminator
xmen
aliens
jaws

compelling and rich

The Nightmare On Elm Street and Police Academy franchises are iconic if not very good. Scream deserves a mention as well so here goes...

"Scream".

Saw is Iconic because of what it did to the genre, again, if not that great after the second one.

I'm still scratching my head over Wahlberg's 'Iconic' quote. Some of the franchises named above are significantly more iconic than Transformers.

Nightmare On Elm Street is a very iconic franchise, as is Scream, Batman, Rocky, Bond, I could go on.

I wonder if he meant to say iconic or if he just got his words mixed up.

Friday 13th parts 1-678 ("Horny but stupid kids get killed")
Death Wish parts 1-8765 ("The search for more Bullets and baddies")
Anything by Nicholas Cage (he plays the same character repeatedly so I'm assuming it's part of a complex but ultimately shyte franchise)
