Superstitions/OCD
Any of you have any superstitions/habits or maybe a bit of OCD?
I have a few weird tendencies, like:
Left shoe then right, which is quite normal, so I'm told.
When adjusting the volume on either the TV or radio, I always go up first then down one. ie, if I want say number 8, I will first go to 9, then back down to 8.
Hanging out the washing. No same coloured peg is next to each other, unless it's on the same item of clothing.

When watching Liverpool on the tv...if they're attacking from left to right on screen I sit with my left leg on top of my right and vice versa for the second half.

Cracked had a brilliant article on this with someone that has OCD, and really makes you realise that what lot of people class as OCD are just quirks.
HAven't got the link for it now, but if you can find it it's a really good read.
I have loads of stupid quirks that get on my nerves but can't help it. Checking the files on my laptop and renaming them all is something I do regularly for no reason (Often changing them from 01 - 001 etc and back again) And if i stop i get myself wound up and have to go back and finish it.

I cant' walk over three drains as its bad luck. Two drains is good luck though. And if there's one, you have to stand on it and say the name of the person you love. If you do happen to walk over three drains don't worry, to get rid of the bad luck you can turn round and spit on them.

Re: Superstitions/OCD
I make my bed every day as soon as I get up.
I was told ages ago that making your bed is the first positive thing you can do in the day. Failure to do this means your day gets off to an unpositive note. Telling you, it works.

My Wife is in bed when I leave in the morning..
Not easy for me to be positive first thing...
If I have a good set training with a certain song on my MP3...
I'll keep playing it.

First positive thing you can do is actually get out of bed. All else follows on from thatReborn-DeeMcK-Reborn wrote:I make my bed every day as soon as I get up.

Re: Superstitions/OCD
-when I wake up - I drink 500ml of milk... every morning.
-I have two morning alarms - I set the early one with every intention of ignoring it... I think it started with the belief that ignoring the first alarm fooled my mind into believing I stole am extra 40 minutes.
-When I'm working out - I use two bottles - a 500ml water bottle, and a 500ml Energy drink. I take exactly 4 sips of the energy drink, and exactly 2 sips of the water every interval.
-I don't step on the crease when I bat... Either exactly half a step out, or in.
- I always open the underside of a cereal cereal bar.
I also eat a ton of Twinkies.

Re: Superstitions/OCD
Wife's not bothered as long as I'm out by hook or by crook. To be honest given how much I hate my job, I generally have to throw myself out of bed (after I've spent 2 hours weeping uncontrollably begging her to ring in sick for me)

You sure your not a woman?
Anyway I used to be like that to the point that my family thought I was crazy.
I remember watching Man Utd v Oldham ath in the FA cup final in the mid nineties. I think we were a goal down going into the final minutes. For some strange reason I took my member out and started jumping up and down and Mark ''Sparky'' Hughes popped up with a volly equaliser that earn't us a rematch...which we won.
I swear I did the same thing in the 99 champions league final and it worked. I can't explain it but I have not done it since and will never do it again. I was very young back then and a weird little kid.

Re: Superstitions/OCD
You'd have to get it out and run around the pitch at Old Trafford at half time with a carrot up your bum to inspire that shower of shyte to anything comparable this season. (also, however hideous a sight I presume it would be, it'd be more pleasing on the eyes that watching Utd playing this season)
