Broner vs the Khan victim....

The other week on the podcast we were talking about Broner fighting John Molina Jr on the undercard of Mayweather vs Maidana....turns out its the other one....no not the light middleweight one....the other one....the worst one.


Carlos Molina hasn't fought since being trailed up to light welter to get stopped by Khan in a rebound fight after Amir's pancake chicken dance fest against Garcia.

Personally, this fight is not worthy of being on a PPV undercard considering one fighter is a 3 weight world title holder and the other has never even fought for ANY form of micky mouse domestic, lower level, whatever you want kind of belt AT ALL!!

I think Showtime are seriously gonna bomb with this card.

I thought the undercard would make up for the less than exciting main event.

Khan should have been fighting Broner. Granted, Khan has the tougher nights work, but Broner  is back to his Gavin Rees types. Hopefully its just this once, but if he comes out after winning claiming to be the next best thing just because he beat Molina then his lost the plot.

Disappointed also that Thurman (vs Diaz), Matthysse (Molina Jr), Figueroa (Belmontes) etc are all set up on a different card in April.

Why isn't it worthy of being on a PPv undercard..

What was on Groves - Froch...

What weight is it at? The only point for this fight is if Broner comes down to 140lbs where he should be fighting for a tune up before getting a real fight in the division.

If Khan fought Broner they wouldn't play second fiddle to Floyd.

It's a rebound fight for Broner, just some undercard filler, pretty meaningless but no harm done (unless they start trying to sell the card off the back of it).

Yeh, I heard it was at 140.

Think Broner needs to establish himself there, not like it's not a hot division, as WW he's not as imposing and I'd have thought he'd struggle to make 135 again where he can go back to bullying little'uns.

Well if you switched your brain on for a second Truss, you will find that the Froch vs Groves undercard was heavily criticised for being garbage.

If it was Brook fighting Molina you would be crying the blues, but I guess because its Broner and its on Floyd's card you find it acceptable....figures.

Could have got a better opponent than Carlos Molina though at 140lb. This is Truss' number 5 P4P three weight world champion we are talking about, why does he need soft fights?

I cant see the problem with this. Its by no means a big fight and I dont think its being sold that way. Broner needs a comeback fight, he was criticised for jumping too much weight and going after the main guys in upper divisions without establishing himself there first so why the problem with this?

So far the undercard is looking ok.

Also worth noting that Broner lost to the last Khan victim he fought, despite being heavy favourite

Thurman v Diaz is even worse. Which bright spark thought this would be a worthwhile fight for fight fans. Absolute joke. Was it because Diaz was so impressive slapping Khan around with ease that he got this fight?

or are certain fighters just afraid of Thurman? Can't see what this fight does for the supposed next big thing. Personally I would enjoy seeing someone ko Thurman he's a mug.

Its just when Mayweather fights, its an event. If the best fighter in the world is fighting on the card then you want to see the best fights.

Just disappointed with this. Wanted to see Broner matched tougher (not really tough obviously). But this will just be a sparring session which this card doesn't need.

Broner vs Julio Diaz would have been more appealing

Broner's being lined up to fight Lamont Peterson later in the year.

Peterson recently signed with Al Haymon, so once Broner beats up Molina, expect Peterson vs Broner to be announced.

Has Juiceman LP still (disgracefully) got that IBF strap??

Got to admire how many big fights Petersen has been involved in considering his run of the mill talent..

Tbh, I've often thought Khan was a bit of a twonk, but he's right to be aggrieved over that whole affair. Suspect reffing and losing to a proven drugs cheat who then managed to keep one of his straps (the one belonging to the same organisation that employ the man in the hat) and the local AC refused to go against their home boy and switch the fighter to the rightful NC.

TBH, even if Broner smashes up Peterson

I don't see it doing a lot for his CV.

Peterson's already lost to Bradley(schooled), lost to Matthysse(brutal KO) and he 'lost' to Ortiz but somehow it was declared a draw...

Plus the issues with Khan.

Khan choice of opponents over the last couple of years suddenly doesn't look as bad as before. Porter struggled with Diaz drawing the frst fight and is being talked up a fair bit. Think sometimes we over egg things one way or another.

Thurman is being talked us as the next big thing so anything other than a stoppage will be seen as disappointment at this stage going on previous thougts.
