God we suck
I'm still gonna challenge anyone who has a go at RVW/Hoops. Aguero wouldn't score 15 a season for us, Hughton has no idea how to use them whatsoever

And what's the away record looking like...
Also how many of those home games were wins? Spurs? I'd rather lose one game and win the rest than draw a lot and have an "unbeaten" record (they're very overrated we have an unbeaten home record in 2014 but like 4 of the 6 are draws so were actually jot doingn that great)
beat Tottenham at home and we beat LOSERPOOL at home twice. drew with city, united and chelsea at home.
OK wow what are you like 12. Loserpool
They may have beaten us Olly, and he may call us Loserpool. But he'd give his left nut to swap positions with us right now
That is actually a very good question, what is better finishing 2nd or 3rd and winning nothing or finishing 4th and winning the fa cup?
We are currently in the title race, you are not. Tomorrow we have a chance to go top of the league with the other two teams in the race to visit Anfield, are you saying you'd prefer to scrapping it out for fourth than have the opportunity we are currently presented with? The modern football fan, happy with not winning anything for nearly a decade as long as they get to play with the big boys
liverpool will finish 3rd and win nothing, Arsenal will finish 4th and be the FA cup champions
I would not give my left nut as you put it to be in LOSERPOOL's position (that I predict) come the end of the season. I will be happy being the fa cup winners

Monk was talking nonsense-
Just as good as they have played all season from the highlights.
He is getting abit over confident.
Norwich as allways just cant play away this season.

He's a good player, you can see it, but he's been drained of all confidence (as has Hooper, and tbh he's not been much better if all he's just had a bit more luck with deflected goal etc). These two are poachers, we create nothing week in week out. Against Stoke at home RVW only received one pass in the box and it was from a corner. Hughton has no idea how to use em. I'd rather he brought big target men cos they suit his system. But he spent 13m on guys and hasn't changed his system to suit them.
I can't wait to see RVW/Hoops under a manager who can use them properly next season (hopefully)

Surely Hoolahan has to play behind the striker? He was superb playing behind holt. Drop Elmander, play hoolahan behind a striker and play Pilkington on the left

Don't even get me started on the misuse of Wessi this season!
Pilkington wasn't even in the squad today. Yet Gutierrez is despite being injured the past two months and being like 10000000000 times sh!tter. I despair I really do

Think he will end up in Spain will Hernandez.
Yeah, Lallana is class. No wonder Dortmund been looking at him. As for Newcastle, truly dire.

Dont wanna see him going dortmund.
I feel for southampton.
shaw, rodriguez and lallana could all be prized out of that team - all for 20m plus
I think they should all just make a pact and stay on. They love playing with each other.

7 English starters for Soton today, a rarity.
Guest- Guest
Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
Obviously they all won't go in one summer but it will come a point in time when Lallana has to face upto the fact he's progressed or developed into something bigger & better than Southampton. He's been loyal but at 25, I would say he need to test himself at a higher level & his agent will be pining for a big deal to negotiate. Shaw will obviously end up at City or Chelsea. Lambert is too old to leave & Rodriguez just doesn't have that appeal for some strange reason. Chambers will be at Soton for a number of years I'd say.
Guest- Guest
Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I think the time has come where rodriguez's appeal is gaining serious momentum. he is younger than lallana.
Lambert isnt a first rate striker - but in fairness done everything asked of him- scores for southampton, scores for england.. A very good one and but we cant put him in the other 3's league potential wise. I can't see a big club going for him.

Ricky Lambert is a proper romance story.
Played in every league to finally realise his dream. Inspiring stuff.
Wherever he goes from here on in he'll leave this earth a happy man.
I'd take him to Brazil. He's an option.

I really like Lambert. Major weakness is a lack of pace but he reads the game so well and is totally unselfish.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I think Jay could play up front as an alternative as well. I am not bothered about picking extra strikers for the world cups just because there is an unwritten rule that you have to , the wingers can score at a decent hit rate. Lambert does go for me. after rooney and sturridge- however we would still have a goal threat by advancing ox, sterling or jay as well.
We cant waste our time thinking about the carroll option IMO.
a mix of southampton and liverpool with rooney and ox is the way forward IMO. bring all of them as our attacking options.
wilshire if fit again can come- him or henderson can play alongside gerrard. Carrick has proved he could fill in as a decent centre half option- TBH a much better option than Smalling and even jones IMO to play alongside Cahil. We cant have a static couple of DM's. We need one that can retain possession and get up more box to box- wilshire could play that role. Carrick cant ever get out far enough but is becoming a very solid defensive option

Indeed Guildford excellent vision and awareness, always finds the space to pass into or drift into himself. Also very good on the ball and a terrific striker of the dead ball.
Will be a travesty if Shaw, Lallana, Lambert and Rodriguez aren't in Brazil this summer. Lallana should be a nailed on starter

Thoughts on Yesterday (o god here we go)
Great win for Palace, can only laugh they beat Chelsea and we lose at home to Boro. Fair play to them, fully deserved. There staying up for sure. Also some boring news, Brighton fans raised 1000 pounds for a Palace supporter who's daughter is very ill and therefore will have to wear a Brighton shirt to the final Palace home game of the season, poor lad!
Arsenal and Citeh drawing. Not good enough for Arsenal. There gone from the race. But good result for Liverpool.
West Brom and Cardiff point isn't really enough for either side. West Brom deserve to go down for harshly sacking Steve Clarke, but i still think Sunderland will drop.
United banner was stupid, justice win for Moyes. The banner from Paddy Power was brilliant though.
Southampton pure class. Got to take those English lads to Brazil!
Big win for Swansea, but im sure Norwich will be fine. But like Southampton, so easily run in the midfield, worrying for them, changes needed in the summer for sure.
Stoke good win. Hughes has proved me wrong, after single handily wrecking QPR last season.

Souness going on about Bent like he is some world beater, its not coincidence that three managers at Fulham and Lambert at Villa haven't played him.
He's a luxury, doesn't work hard for the team, doesn't hold the ball up, doesn't run the channels. Can't afford that when you're a lower half team, and he's not good enough to play for one of the best
