Hell we have 1 point out of 9 since sacking Davies, with home losses to the mighty Charlton and Millwall
But how did you do when you appointed him?

Davies is actually a good, experienced manager though. Not the U18s coach thrown in for 5 games.
Sadly he's also a complete knob

Logically speaking his job is to sign players of the quality to move the club forwards. I'd be surprised if Hughtons got worse as a coach in 12 months
Therefore he should also be sacked

Our chief exec has nothing to do with the scouting of players/how they're played. He simply just signs the check
He's not some DOF like Baldini at Spurs who signs all the players for the manager to work with. These were Hughton's players signed by him (and tbf to the guy he signed good players, just hasn't a clue how to use them especially the strikers)

If he was gonna be sacked it should be for a poor appointment and falling out with Lambert in the first place
And then not sacking Hughton early enough

Olly, any manager that has Norwich in 17th place deserves a knighthood.
Chief Exec McNally sounds like a complete idiot every time he opens his mouth.........a spin merchant who sounds like a wannabee MP.
Well done Chris Hughton on a brilliant job as Norwich Manager - to finish 11th and then follow that up with a very solid season is a job well done............
Not box office enough for McNally & Co is not surprising................

I hope Norwich go down this season. (Sorry Olly!)
If they were to sack him, why not 5 or 10 games ago?
Should have brought Prem proven strikers, thats were Norwich have went wrong. RVW and Hooper only scored 2 between them?

Seems about right, top 3 teams tend to have a lot more touches in the opposition area.

When you don't get the rub of the green combined with poor performances you do notice how lucky the top teams are with decisions.

Heard on TalkSport last week, the story doing the rounds in Holland is that Van Gaal had already been offered the Spurs job some time ago but was holding off on taking it as A/ He wanted to focus on the World Cup and B/ There's an rumour that he's holding off to see whether or not the Man Utd job becomes available.

Sherwood out of a job in the summer, feel sorry for the bloke had a poor squad to work with put together by AVB. Proved he has good man management e.g. Adebayor. But much to learn, his side got broken down way too easily.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
Hughton had clearly lost the fans and apparently also the players. On that basis, he had to go. The Board deserve strong criticism for not seeing what was happening and making the decision earlier. However, having finally come to the conclusion that the Norwich ship was going down with Hughton at the helm, it's right that they've acted. Yes, it's desperate but it's better than now doing nothing and meekly accepting relegation with him.

17 Feb David McNally,Norwich Chief Exec said: "It would be almost delinquent of the football club to not be aware of potential candidates if for any reason your manager left"....." If results are not good enough you have to be aware of who is out there to help. You look at the market and who might be right for Norwich City".
So they looked at the "market" and hired the youth team coach. What a plonker!!

As for laughing at us appointing our youth coach, our most successful ever manager Mike Walker, was promoted from youth team coach to first team manager. I'm sure people laughed back then, and it's not as if Adams has been a failure, he won the FA Youth Cup last year beating a team made of expensively assembled Chelsea players, and to be honest it was actually the highlight of last season

Easy win for Tottenham, full credit to Sherwood been a tough day.
Harry Kane is a good player, but he never strikes me as a player who has a future at Tottenham, can see him leaving in the summer and maybe joining one of the promoted teams from the Championship.
Gus Poyet continuing to work wonders at Sunderland.

Goodbye Poyet, always nice to see Sunderland in a mess.
As for Eriksen, you wonder how good he could be or is he just made to look genuine quality, while playing alongside utter rubbish. I think he's had a good season though, impressed me most out of the new signings. Good result for Spurs/Sherwood & still in the hunt.....just!

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I don't think people believe that Hughton shouldn't be sacked, just that it seems too little, too late. With five games to go, four of them against the top sides, it seems a little futile sacking your manager when you didn't ten or fifteen games before when the side were in a poor position and playing poor football and the manager had no fan backing then. That's what is odd about the situation, it's not support for Hughton, just bafflement at the fact that Adams has been thrown into the deep end.
It's a huge gamble on essentially one match, in the hope that confidence is improved to get the win over Fulham. You'd think familiarity and stability would have been better. If you're going to stick with a manager for so long, it seems strange to sack him with very little time for it to have an impact rather than waiting until the end of the year. I don't think Norwich are less likely to get relegated now, however talented Adams may be, he's going to struggle and hasn't been given a good position to showcase himself.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I understand his position. We all thought Hughton would grind it out with the matches they had and the performances he can get from the players. We all know there wasn't any consistency, but it seemed enough to get the job done then assess in summer.
But when he lost the big games lately, it seemed that letting him steer the ship may just see it sink. Thus, you can't sit idly by. So you cant get a new manager? Who cares! They were going down anyway (on this logic) so something different could just change mindset.
Now, the new manager will have his task set. It will be either promotion or survival next year. If he had come in and kept them up, it really wouldnt by on his own skill, and if he got relegated its a bad start that completely isnt his fault. The mood will be fresh.

Well there is that honeymoon factor to consider- Teams 75% of the time do well in there next game.
ps my 75% is very much a guess but probably a decent one.
and tbf they really only need that one win v fulham and they are safe.

Fulham will be on a high after beating us.
2 points behind Norwich if they win(which I think they will).
Its a must win for Fulham, lose and for me they are down.
May still will be with a win, but will up the confidence more.
After saturday they have:-
Spurs a loss
Hull h could sneak a win
Stoke a draw/loss
Palace h win, palace will be safe going into last day.

Micah Richards to leave City at the end of the season.
Well done Micah, getting away from the easy money and free medals to get some first team football is a brave move. My opinion on him is greatly improved.
The Guardian article links him to Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle. I think his game would improve a lot for some time with Allardyce as his defensive weaknesses will be exposed at both Liverpool and Arsenal and if theres anything Sam can do its improve a defender's bread and butter game.

I don't want him at Liverpool. Never been a massive fan of him, always seemed a bit too big to be a full back but not quite disciplined enough to be a centre back.

I dont like his discipline as a defender, but he'll get taught that at our place and his natural attributes are outstanding. He'd be amazing for us. I would imagine we'll end up with Bardsley instead
