New ELV's Announced
Thr IRB today announced new experimental laws governing the number of players on the field. A spokesman announced that players would be reduced to 13 to "provide for more open space, less scrum resets and cleaner breakdowns". The experiment will start this summer and effect the planned tours including England's tour in NZ.
The IRB have denied any confusion with the "other code" stating that spectators " will know what they are watching because referees will still be instructed to shout "no hands" and "ruck" from time to time, although they will have to remeber not to shout ""leave it 7".
The experiment will be phased in with the SH teams first to take the fireld with 6 forwards followed by the NH several months later. A spokesperson for the All Blacks denied that this would give England any advantage on the upcomming tour and claimed they were not bothered as they were going to rest a couple of key back row forwards anyway.
When will the IRB stop messing with the game we love.
