Frampton vs Cazares (spoilers)
Frampton blew him away in two rounds, landing with an absolute peach but Cazares misread the count and although had his senses didn't get up but instead was playing bravado on his knee.
Leo Santa Cruz next for Frampton and that's a fight he wins for me, however Gary Hyde has said Rigondeaux is willing to travel to Belfast to fight Frampton.

Great performance by Frampton, no controversy in that stoppage the ref counted him out, Frampton would have KOed him anyway had he got up.
Very impressive, hopefully we get Quigg vs Frampton.

Eddie will be keeping Quigg miles away from Frampton after that in my opinion, such a big risk for them to take and one they'll feel they don't need to.

Good performance by Frampton. I thought the count was a little quick but, ultimately, Calzares was too busy with his bravado and staring at Frampton to see the ref counting up on his fingers.
Frampton would most likely have finished him off soon after anyway.
Quigg v Frampton is a bit down the line, if Quigg can keep onto his title. Then there would be a UK unification and big money in Manchester.

I think the commentators counted to five, which is where the ref picked up. I wouldn't argue. It was irrelevant how quick or slow a ref counts. Its up to the fighter to show the clarity of thought to follow the ref. The ref was clearly holding his fingers up. Calvares was simply watching Frampton and trying to show off. Its his fault.

Hell of a statement by Frampton. Cazares is quality, hadn't been stopped in 15 years and is definitely not the sort of fighter you expect to see sparked out in a couple of rounds. Wasn't sure Frampton would have things go his way considering the step up in quality. To stop him so abruptly is a fantastic result.
The race in the top 5 of the division is heating up nicely.

Re: Frampton vs Cazares (spoilers)
As I said on Twitter, v v v disappointing.
Frampton is top class but he needed a real work-out before taking on Leo, divisional #2 behind the untouchable Rigo.
Was an absolute beaut of a punch, and I'd have like to see it go a few more rounds with more of the same for a proper comprehensive victory, but unfortunately Caz's screw up cheated us of that and in reality we got a couple of rounds that told us little and taught Carl nothing.

Re: Frampton vs Cazares (spoilers)
Pee'ed off with the ending also. Cazares caught Frampton a few times during the two rounds also, but Frampton just walked through his shots. It would have really ended badly for Cazares had he of got up.
The undercard was pretty lively with all stoppages I think.
The Ormond and O'Kane finishes were beauties.
But as for it not teaching anything for Frampton going in against Leo, this fight was never going to do that anyway.
Cazares isn't a volume puncher, is 37, a career flyweight or thereabouts. Another few rounds would have been equivalent of a sparring session. Frampton was throwing jab after jab with his right hand in position just looking for an opening. I think this was part of the strategy as when the left hook came, Cazares was to busy looking for the right hand of Framptons.
Overall, good atmosphere once again, disappointed with Cazares but to be fair most fighters wouldn't have made it up after taking that left.
Bring on Leo. I sort of want to see it in America (even though I live in Belfast), only for the reason that I want to see if Carl can do the job on his travels. He is a beast in his own backyard, we know that. But how does he get on out of his comfort zone?

What happens when you pick on ex flyweights..
Mcguigan is the problem...Thought fighting part timer Cruz was risky in Vegas back in the day and he knows the Belfast lot will cram a venue to see Frampton punch the heavy bag.
Once the kid wins a belt It will be big money for stiff galore..

Like most belt holders do. There aren't that many at the minute who take on challenge after challenge.

This guy won't with Mcguigan managing him..

Re: Frampton vs Cazares (spoilers)
Was Martinez not a challenge?
I know you're fishing for a bite. Its pretty stupid of someone who claims to be a fan of boxing is so ignorant to discredit a fighter who has fought 2 previous world champs/ 1 current world champ (and multiple Euro champ) and not only beat them, but stopped them all.
What would a challenge be Truss?
Martinez is like a super bantam Maidana and you have no issue with your God of Boxing taking that "challenge".
Don't let your issue with Strongy make you spew nonsense on the forum big lad. If Frampton beats Leo I suspect you will still act in the same childish way so thats all it for the time I will waste on you regarding this subject.
Run along.

Re: Frampton vs Cazares (spoilers)
I think Frampton's been moved perfectly. I'd favour him over LSC (in a classic). I wouldn't blame them for taking a couple of fights at home after that before facing Rigo.
Frampton has claimed its the fight he wants after LSC and it shouldn't be too difficult to set up with Gary Hyde.
Quigg might miss the boat unless he picks up a big fight soon.

Seems like you wasted plenty of time.
Fact is Mcguigan feels he was bitten....Like the Klits in Germany he has an army of undemanding Belfast patrons glad to taste any success..
Points to milking a cow..
If I wanted a bite of something..I wouldn't slum it with you..

I'm not sure that's correct. Where was it reported? He had to face Cazares in order to get a crack at LSC (Cazares was virtually set to face his compatriot).

I haven't seen that reported in the press -- there were reports that Hearn turned down an offer from Warren in September. Hearn passed it off as an attention-seeking move from Warren.

I watch it from time to time but it's the Hearn show isn't it? I'd hardly expect him to say he'd turned an offer down (as he does in Terry Dooley's report).
