Clermont vs Tigers
First topic message reminder :
Well, nearly time for kick off. My prediction is 20 - 18 to Clermont. As much as my heart wants us to win, my head is saying it will be number 75 home win for Clermont.
Whats anyones elses predictions?

Hard luck Tigers, that was a good 2nd half performance. Waldrom was bleedin brainless though - maybe cost you the game.

In fairness Hound, although it was a brain fart from Waldrom (seems to have a habit of getting carded soon after coming on as a replacement) it was the multiple indescretions leading up to it that cost earned the yellow.

Except the Aviva is just down the road from the RDS. Bordeaux is about 250 miles from Montferrand. That would be a bit like Quins playing a 'home' game at Elland Road in Leeds.

That was the choice they made. They weren't forced to play there and if they had another home semi I'd imagine they would go back there.
It was still 25k clermont fans to Leinster's 5k. Anyway enough on that.

Re: Clermont vs Tigers
Very proud of my Tigers. A few weeks ago I would have given us absolutely no chance, but the team has been building, and the push Clermont all the way was a great effort. 16-0 down at Clermont is virtually impossible, but in the end, they could have won it, but for a few little things.
This is a great squad, and if they can start the season a little better, and get a bit of luck with injuries, they can challenge any team.

It all started with a dumb penalty on the Clermont line by Logo. Then a series of penalties.Nachos Jones wrote:In fairness Hound, although it was a brain fart from Waldrom (seems to have a habit of getting carded soon after coming on as a replacement) it was the multiple indescretions leading up to it that cost earned the yellow.
Gutted, but Clermont just deserved the win. Will always be convinced Rolland should have given us the penalty at the end for coming in at the side. In four tight European matches this season we have come through just the once (away to Montpelier). Sadly this season we are one notch below the top tier teams. Close though.

Agree the final penalty should have gone to Leicester as Clermont didn't release the tackled player and the main guy challenging for the ball clearly didn't come from the back ...

Absolutely right. A dreadful decision. However i still think Clermont were the better team.

Agree - but they came so close to choking, and it was our own stupidity that let them hang on.
