I was wrong
Jared Hoeata.
He was supposed to be the next great All Blacks lock. Built like Brad Thorn and with a certain x-factor in the loose. An explosive player who can also cover 6.
But the game moved on quickly, and the All Blacks prefer the combination of Whitelocks aerial skill and a more direct ball carrier and scrummager in the power base.
Hoeata has failed to adapt and with scant opportunity in super rugby is off to prove himself at Cardiff. A great find for them.
Let's hope he continues to evolve and one day returns.

Re: I was wrong
looks like he has improved his discipline this year. the last couple of years it seems like he thinks the only way to be an enforcer is to be a grub

Rainbow, he's more than good enough for Cardiff. He'll never be in contention for Wales having already been capped by NZ.

Ready to admit you were off the mark with Tom Taylor? We'll give you Ben Smith.

Are you crazy? Didn't you see Tom Taylor star in the crusaders win last weekend? The man has the rugby brain of a genius.

Did you miss his genius intervention?
Slade was ok too to be fair - he seems to have found a bit of metal for his spine and have his confidence back.
Nice to know the stocks at 10 are still embarrassingly rich - it will be a toss up between Slade and Barrett and of course tom Taylor to slay the poms I guess.
