The County T20 Championship?

As the County T20 championship is about to start I was wondering what everyone makes of the oldest T20 championship in the world, IMO last years was the best, but arguably the best side did not win it. However with the emergence of the IPL and the ill fated Stamford tournemants in the Carribean, where does the competition rank world wide. The main problem with it is that most counties are making huge losses at the moment and therefore cant afford the best T20 talent the world hasd to offer. If there was some way this problem could be adressed then it may well go back to being able to compete with the IPL in terms of quality. Having said that it can still produce some tremendous moments with home grown talent, Marcus Trescothick's 13 ball fifty and the Quater final between Essex and Lancs are two moments that spring to mind for me about the competition last year which were great to watch.

What are your thoughts on the oldest T20 competition in the world, and the all important question who will win?

i want essex to win it but i think somerset will win it..

I think either Somerset or Surrey will win it.

Would love Durham to think but I think our squads more suited to 4 day games.
