As far as I'm concerned no body playing tonight aside from de gea should play for this club again- they have shamed themselves and the club.
Difficult to slate youngsters. The manager should take the blame, by playing too many of them.

They don't have what it takes, dot have the right attitude or conviction.
Throughout the years out youngsters regardless of ability have shown desire and conviction when given a chance. These guys haven't, they are afraid to take risks - I've no interest in them.

You might be joking mate . but he would be ideal for them. He would take none of this defensive nonsense.
United Wont go down. But tp would do a better job than lvg.

Re: Man Utd - The Gaalacticos thread
So we can now add MK Dons to the growing list of sides that had never beaten United until SAF stepped down from manager...
Seriously though what is LVG thinking, the League Cup was a genuine way for you to win a trophy this season (and guarantee European Football, and its all over by March so wouldn't get in the way of fighting for 4th come May)
Under Moyes you were often bad, under LVG you are bad at best... truly abysmal is still putting it nicely

To be fair Gregers, think most would have thought that Welbeck and Hernandez etc would have been well enough to walk through MK Dons.

But that defence clearly is not. Could have played Mata and RVP and get them to play themselves into form

Re: Man Utd - The Gaalacticos thread
Right full time, I feel fairly calm given how long that performance was farcical - I think the anger has passed.
That's probably the worst performance I've ever seen from a United side, it lacked the basic effort any pub team could have put in. There was no desire from any of the players to do anything in a correct manner.
No agression, no physicality, no pressing, no desire to get into position quickly.
No communication, no conviction, no desire to do anything but safety first passes.
No assured touches, no firmly struck passes, no off the ball movement, no making yourself available for a team mate.
We've had decades of youngsters playing for united, with varying abilities - but the common theme with them all was effort, determination and conviction in their play - they did what they were capable of when given a chance. This batch just don't have it in them, it is plain to see.
I don't want to see any of these players (barring De Gea and Wilson) play for the club again.
Keane - unfortunately not good enough for PL
Evans - Has shown he can't function at the top level without a top class player beside him telling him what to do and bailing him out, in other words he is useless to us.
Vermijl - no conviction, no brain, no thanks
anderson - overweight, lacks ability, doesn't care
Powell - no pace, doesn't care. At one point tonight he made a token press, let the defender past him easily then just stood there the furthest forward making no effort to get back. That's just not good enough at any level never mind someone fighting for their club future.
Janko - looked devoid of ability, only had a half so maybe harsh but if you can't show anything against a league one side you aren't going to make it in the PL
Kagawa - he's just crap, back to Germany with you
James - hes had a lot of game time pre season, tries but unfortunately isn't good enough
Hernandez - awful all round game, flog to who ever is interested
Welbeck - you know at least he tried (the only one) but he has such limited quality on the ball at times and can't do it against league 1 sides.
Periera - no conviction, whats the point
Wilson - to be fair the game was lost when he came on and he had some conviction so he can stay
Januzaj - embarrassing tonight, does he not realise we've just signed a £60 million pound player in his position? Where is the effort? Where is the conviction to take men on and pick out passes?
People will talk about and criticise the formation but formations don't make you give away 5 yard passes, or avoid passing it into the middle of the pitch, or not try.
The players should be ashamed by that.

The over reaction to this result is humorous to say the least, if we were getting beaten that badly with the first team it would be a problem but we were playing youngsters nowhere near the first team squad.

Wow that was shocking. Defence was dreadful. If LvG/Woodward don't sign another CB then a top 10 finish was be lucky...
Secondly the midfield was hopeless. No creativity. No vision.

LVG should bring in his own back room team, having to put up with the likes of Giggs is destroying Utd.
They need a new start and ditch all the dead wood.

The C team of a premier league side (with 5 players in it that have played for their national side mind you) cannot beat a league 1 side. It is worth reacting to

I've seen similar united sides lose to lower league opposition and you just move on (Palace, Coventry, Leeds etc etc).
Playing weakened sides it happens some times. Getting chinned 4-0 to a 3rd tier side with no real chances created and no real effort or conviction in the side is very much something to react to.

Evans has been first regular for the last 4/5 years
Anderson is a CL winner
Hernandez and Welbeck have been first team regulars
Januzaj the supposed next big thing.
Overreacting? I doubt it.

Yes losses happen, thats 2/3 under LVG. In hindsight a stronger team and a win to get the ball rolling and confidence up would have been good.
I do think we'd enough on the pitch to win, they just didn't care or have the fortitude to perform.

Confidence in the dressing room is going to be shot after this. If (and this is a big if) you lose against Burnley this weekend then I'd struggle to see how LVG will get the ball rolling
On a side note you must be glad you're not playing Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton or Spurs for a while
Re: Man Utd - The Gaalacticos thread
They'll be handing out a few hidings to us unless we get everyone fit and in some sort of form. Defending and counterattacking might suit us better presently.
Don't know what is happening with injuries but this weekend
De Gea
Jones Smalling Rojo
Valencia Fletcher Herrera Young
Di Maria
Rooney RVP
Will hopefully take care of Burnley.
Didn't agree with LVGs post match interview as much tonight. Said he thought we created a lot of chances and were unlucky.
Other interesting bits, said it might take a year to build the team. Also said DI Maria will be used as a winger or midfielder depending on situation and can be useful in our current philosophy.

Keep the faith.
I'd like
de gea
Jones smalling Rojo Blackett
Herrera Fletcher
Di Maria Mata Rooney
RVP
this weekend. I think it will be persisting with 4312, possibly
de gea
jones smalling/evans rojo
valencia fletcher/Herrera Di Maria Young
Mata
RVP Rooney
from what LVG said tonight.

I hope we go back to four at the back, we don't have much more time to persevere with this system with five.
De Gea
Valencia Smalling Jones Rojo
Fletcher Cleverley
Mata Rooney Di Maria
RVP
I know Mata is a little out of position on the right but this is the best line up.
