Well played Sarries, I didn't see that score line coming!

Very strange call Scrumpy. Sarries playing very well though, Clermont look shocked.

Two games in a row for Sarries where the ref is having a big influence on the game...

This call from Owens was harsh, not Sarries fault though!

Maybe they're not as biased against Saracens as 'neutral' viewers?

Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
In fairness to Owens, he called it as a decent catch attempt at first and it was the TMO that kept showing more replays which may have influenced Owens a little. Clermont looking more solid now.

Cant understand why it isnt a yellow for Sarries now if that is the red zone...

Looks a fair try to me that, seen those given before many times.

Now he checks for an obstruction but didnt check for the forward pass for Ashtons try....very strange from Nigel today.

Sarries have been pretty good but Clermont look to be settling now. Still, I hope Sarries win.

I think no try was the right call, one of the centres blocked another Sarries player too.

Looks like a forward pass to Ashton there. Some lucky footwork by Farrell there.

Try awarded...
I was certain the pass to Ashton was forward there and it was not even looked at.
Living a charmed life today are Sarries but they are worth their lead.

No justice in this game? 3 tries to nil tells me who the better team have been so far and I am not even watching the game!
Sounds like some people just like to whine.
HammerofThunor no it's not me. I am otherwise engaged so cannot go to the game.
I would have made a match thread of my own in normal circumstances.

Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
Can I just say that Farrell isn't terribly smart is he? my point in case being that just there Ashton made a great tackle on Sivivatu but Farrell just pushed the player too, as it was Sivivatu was almost already in touch so Owens let it go or didn't see it had it been further in field or been seen it would have been a penalty against. Saracens are doing so well here they don't need stupid stuff like that
Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
Sarries unreal so far. Brits, Ashton & Burger are having fantastic games.

Give us a wave beshocked
Justice wise, fair play to Saracens for riding their luck & they have been the better side. But a lot of the calls that are going their way are highly debatable.
1st try gifted by Owens
Clermont try denied by Owens
3rd try TMO missed forward pass in the build up
All huge calls

It's going well so far Beshocked. Hope your guys can keep on top. I missed bits, is Farrell a bit injured or something for Goode to be taking to kicks? Or are they going with him because he's been in the kicking zone?

Doesn't mean there were wrong decisions made, though. You can't argue with any of them individually, but as they pile up they start to look unfair!
I think Clermont have been about par with Sarries , scoring aside. Surprised Saracens weren't a man down earlier when Clermont were pressing - 3 penalties in a row or something?

Farrell did nothing wrong there, he just helped guide Nalaga(not Sivivatu) into touch and then took the ball.

Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
Storming first half for Sarcens, Clermont are going to need a brilliant second half now can Sarries keep that intensity up though?
Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
I have really the match myself. Sarries have not taken a back step at all and are in total control. I said after the 1/4 final against Leicester that Clermont can be beaten. Keep going Sarries.

I don't know what 'isn't smart' about helping to bundle a very powerful and dangerous player into touch? Be daft not to make sure he went out, especially given how pumped up Sarries are.

Regardless of some of the dodgy decisions gifting Sarries scores the Clermont defensive coach should be sacked at halftime.

Fair enough if we are getting a bit of luck. Sounds like it but on the other hand it sounds like we are playing well too.
Just hope they can keep up the momentum. Clermont are a very good side. Can't give them an inch.
Oh and I am very pleased the ref is not the French man Alain Rolland.
HammerofThunor Farrell had two stinkers with the boot vs Ulster and Saints. Probably want to let Farrell focus on the playmaking/physical side.

Nothing isn't smart about that mate what wasn't smart was it was not a bundle it was just a shove and if you don't think it was I suggest you go view again because a bundle is when you stay in contact a shove is what Farrell did and it is stupid because it would have given away a penalty
Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
Will Greenwood making the comment that Farrell made the "most" of the crossing and that by throwing himself at Chouly he manufactured the penalty.....

Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
True HammerofThunor. Goode kicked everything vs Bath. Plus he's generally a decent place kicker. Have Sarries utilised Bosch yet? He has a monster boot.
Despite the healthy lead, no complacency here. Sarries must make sure they keep playing well.
Sarries lost focus vs Saints and almost opened the door.

Can't honestly remember if it was a shove, but come on, players 'help' others in to touch like that all the time, I can't remember the last time somebody got penalised for it.

Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
Me-109 it's quite funny you say Nigel Owens is being very biased towards us because some Sarries fans still question some of his reffing decisions when we lost to Munster in the 2007-8 semi.
Personally I think Owens is a good ref. sure he gets stuff wrong like all refs but I think he's generally good.
I think most of the anti-Sarries comments are because you want to see us lose, despite us actually having a smaller salary cap than Clermont.

Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
I don't think Owens is being biased he has been pretty spot on so far I'd say although I don't think it should have been a penalty try but that's a matter of opinion really on whether you think a try would have been scored, he did think that so fair enough, while Farrell maybe milked the disallowed try it was still very clearly obstruction
Re: HC semi Sarries vs Clermont
beshocked wrote:I think most of the anti-Sarries comments are because you want to see us lose
True. When Leinster are playing there's a constant stream of moaning from English posters about every little thing. Now it's perfectly normal for English people to want to see Leinster lose. It's natural and correct for them to hate seeing their neighbours win. But I do wish they'd keep the moaning down.
I really want to see Saracens lose by the way. Sorry. But it looks like they've already won anyway.

Yeah 10 minutes into this second half and Sarries clearly maintaining the better side, so fair play to them.
Just a bit bored with the score as a neutral
