Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
First topic message reminder :
Superb by Mourinho. When are Liverpool at their most dangerous? The first thirty minutes of games; that is, generally, when they tear teams apart.
Not allowed to do that today, though, even against a very weakened Chelsea side. Liverpool didn't get a clear chance all game, and one costly, costly error gave Chelsea what they needed.
That and frustration, as Liverpool rapidly ran out of ideas and invention.
Back in City's hands now - another title won on goal difference?

Girouds done well. Walcott was a big miss for him as he was the one who would make the runs in behind for him to find

Giroud is a great player, but if you're relying on him as the key striker to win you a league, then your mad.

Well said old chap
Sick & tired of the constant negative talk about Olivier Giroud as a footballer. The stats don't lie. He's up there with the very best the EPL has ever seen, Shearer....Henry....NO! There's only one man football fans on these shores will be talking about for decades to come & the name will be Olivier Giroud. I'm still astounded that he was never even mentioned to win the Footballer of the Year award this season. I mean how many more tap-ins does this guy have to expertly finish in order to be recognised? Disgraceful.
The worrying thing for many of Arsenal's rivals for the 2014/15 campaign, is that Olivier Giroud is only going to get better. The thought of that is quite frightening.

Arsenal will likely upgrade in the summer. Balotelli would be a fine get. Girouds had a fine season though

Balotelli would be Wenger's worst nightmare! Last thing they need is a nutjob like him in the dressing room.

Don't rate Ballotelli. think he'd probably be just another Giroud. They need someone who's going to run in behind defenders where Ozil and Ramsey can feed them.

Yeah Ballotelli has proven he isn't worth having due to off the pitch antics. Would be the wrong signing for Arsenal as well.

Remy would be a good signing. He's a different option to Giroud and gives them someone with a bit of pace and an eye for goal for ozil and co to play through balls in behind.

I think Remy's a flat-track bully who goes missing against the top teams. Whilst he might be a decent alternative to Giroud, he's no better as a wide attacker than Podolski or Walcott.

#LFC team v Palace: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez
Seems a fairly defensive side. Don't think you need Lucas and Allen.

Which striker at first a club who went down and second a club who have spent half a season waiting for their holidays would decimate the top four? Its not really a valid complaint of someone outside a big club because hes not surrounded by top quality.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
Remy's record in France isn't spectacular either. Averaged about 1 in 3 over there. He's decent, but not exceptional, and I don't think he's better than what Arsenal have. He's been linked with clubs such as Arsenal and Spurs for the past two/three years, but they've decided not to touch him. I'd image their scouts have checked him out thoroughly
Players like Benteke, Lukaku and Bony have looked more dangerous against teams in the top echelon over the past couple of season, without always having great players around them.

Coutinho injured, unfortunately just the result of a small squad. Only other viable options are the likes of Moses or Aspas.

You simply cannot win the league with a defence that poor, Rodgers has a lot of work to do over the Summer.
