Terribly sad news being reported by the Guardian that the actor Bob Hoskins has passed away. Terrible shame, Hoskins managed that all too rare feat for an Oscar of being genuinely talented without being a complete tool. Genuinely came across as a brilliant guy. Also starred in the Long Good Friday which is enough reason to love the man for now and all time.

"I treated you lot well, even when you was out of order!!!!!"

He will be missed

Just heard the news.

Really sad RIP to a GREAT British icon. The Long good Friday was a classic loved it loved the acting loved the soundtrack also Mona Lisa is an under rated gem.

cracking actor . played tough guys and clowns to perfection . watched a film with him and jet li recently called unleashed . he ll be sadly missed

He really was a very versatile actor. From the time of his breakthrough in Dennis Potters' Pennies From Heaven, Bob Hoskins played all his parts brilliantly, even managing the difficult trick of being a live actor in an animated movie (Who Framed Roger Rabbit).

He will be sadly missed.
