WWE Release 5 NXT Performers

WWE has reportedly released five developmental wrestlers from their NXT roster.

According to PWInsider.com, the wrestlers include Mason Ryan, Raquel Diaz (Shaul Guerrero, the daughter of Eddie & Vickie Guerrero), Oliver Grey, Danny Burch, and Sarah Backman.

This was Shaul's second stint in WWE Developmental. She left NXT in September 2012, returned in September 2013, and is gone seven months later.

Grey is a former NXT tag champion with Adrian Neville, the current NXT champion.

Does this signal a few new faces being added to the NXT roster?

Two big stars in Japan have recently left their promotions, KENTA & Prince Devitt, and may be headed for sunny Florida. I am surprised by the release of Mason Ryan, he seemed to have a improved quite a bit since going back to the development system.

If Devitt is allowed to have some of the face paint he's had recently he'll be over so quickly with the fanbase as it looks amazing.

KENTA told a press conference he wanted to "try something new in a new environment" which suggests moving stateside.

Devitt would find it easier to fit in. Ethnically asian performers have never really done great in WWE. Jimmy Wang Yang anyone?

Slightly disappointed about Oliver Grey, thought he looked a good worker alongside Neville, and could have worked a program with him as his career has gone backwards whilst Neville has risen to NXT champion.

Danny Burch was the resident NXT jobber, and whilst I enjoyed his poor man's Desmond Wolfe gimmick, it was clear he was going nowhere.

I'm vibed about Devitt coming, but I've got a bad feeling they'll misuse KENTA.

Shame about Mason Ryan. He had the look, but lacked everything else. In another era it would've worked for him.

Well KENTA will need some new finishers considering they have all been poached by WWE's top stars. It would be a hell of a middle finger to Punk though if they let him use the GTS
