Ukip are dangerous because some people actually believe what they say, and they target the middle classes in areas of law multi culturalism - ( if thats a word). And as gets shown every now and then, the Councillors they put up have been shown as a bit racist. But its easy for them to make grand statements, because realistically they will not get voted in and have to back up the statements they have made.

Have no fear, the nutters are getting kicked out at regular intervals.

And some people may believe what they say for, a lot of the time, it's common sense.

They had Giggs, Scholes Butt a and Phil Neville in a room last night. My god, it was a totally charisma free zone, painful.
I blame Fergie as well.

Strange to think that out of all the Class of 92, Gary Neville comes across really well. And actually a decent bloke. When he was annoying as a player. Though i have nothing against Beckham either, again he seems a pretty decent guy.

Gary is the new media darling that everyone respects.. His voice is still a bit on the dull side. But he knows what he is talking about.

Beckham is just a top bloke. But I did hear he was thinking about playing next year in the MLS franchise he just bought. Maybe its time to hang them boots up becks.

I suppose it's all opinion, but I can't see many people agreeing with that.

Saw about 5 minutes of the Giggs programme last night, it was on mute, but I could see from his eyes that there is nothing going on behind them.
I wonder why it is that it seems Football as the least intelligent and articulate people in sport. Every sport has it's bores (Woods for example) but it is surprising just how abnormal and socially inept footballers (Hargreaves, Fletcher, Owen etc aside) actually are.

Because footballers all say they just want to play football. So from a very young age, they play football. They get signed up for big teams from 8/9/10 and ignore everything and just focus on football. An exception is Theo, but then he gets criticized for not having a football brain. But this is not a new thing, its been the same with footballers going back years.

I think lampard, le saux and ox were all well educated.

Ox played rugby union to a really high level as well. And he showed that strength the other night. Shame he has a niggle. Fingers crossed he will be back on the bench against Uruguay

Every sportsman just want to play their sports, it's not like Vettel started driving after his A' Levels equivalents or Henman only picked up a racket after Uni. You don't think Wilkinson was as Rugby daft as Gerrard was football crazy?

Just seems strange that football produces so many complete morons who can barely string a sentence together, although it curiously seems worse in British football. THe Europeans seem far brighter and cultured.

Very hard for a scouser/geordie/brummie/glaswegian to sound bright either.

Peter Crouch seems a good sport.

He isn't a top sportsman in the bracket of which we were speaking. I had already admitted there were some bright footballers, though they are comparably rare. I didn't need every bright footballer I might have missed to be listed.

In light of all the yank bashing on this board I would like to thank our American friends on this board for the contribution of your nation 70 years ago, eventually making possible that we can actually post what we want.

Was also reading reader emails on the beeb website about what happened back then. Really moving.

I wonder what life would be like today if Germany had won WW2? They would definitely be the richest and most powerful country in Europe. They would have a strong economy and export quality products, we would probably all be driving German cars. They'd probably have one of the best football teams in the worl as well. Er... hang on a minute.

The England style is changing Ben, far more attacking now. I like the All Blacks running game but they are dirty so and so's, always pushing offside and masters of the dark arts.
Lots of selection questions for next week, good ones though. Lawes back in the side is a must, he's a monster, but Parling was great today as well.

Sounded pretty good (didn't see it). Sounds like Nonu was lucky to avoid a yellow card but then who's to say England would have scored during that 10 mins?
Have to laugh re. Lancaster's appointment. The number of braying wallies that said he was a no mark and it would never work. Wonder where they are now? England won't win it next year (here's hoping though!) but things looking a lot better, especially the depth.

Some dodgy refereeing in the Brazil Croatia match... For some readon I think Brazil will see some very favourable refereeing throughout the tournament.
