De La Hoya barking up the wrong tree
Scathing remarks from De La Hoya about Floyd Mayweather on twitter. De La Hoya has fueled the flames of envy towards Money May by stating that Floyd infact has 3 loss on his record. Here is the statement
“I watched several fights again and Floyd should be 43-3 have a great Sunday. You never ever here Julio Cesar Chavez saying he’s the best ever, and he was 87-0 before he lost. You have to realize that records don’t mean anything in today’s world. Don’t forget Julio Cesar Chavez was 87-0 before he lost his first.”
First of all the problem does not lie with Floyd or any fighter but within boxing itself. Maybe Oscar should direct his anger at the boxing establishment tat regulary allows injustice to take place in the ring. Fighters getting robbed, fighters getting shafted, fans getting peeved it all happens in the world of boxing. Of course do we expect that a promoter would take aim at the boxing powers that be so that fights such as Burns v Beltran or Pacquiao v Bradley 1 don't happen again?....I doubt it.
Secondley this beef with Floyd has to end. You had you're chance and BLEW IT SON.

Did Oscar ever get over rehab and all that? Seems there is a threat that his company will be taken from under him by Richard Schaefer and co.
He can't hate Floyd that much if he keeps doing business with him.
Oscar's just hyping up a rematch.

Oscar must be off his medication/or in it, its hard to tell. Last week he was on every American news outlet, saying him and floyd were going to put a bid in for the clippers.
The franchise were hoping to clean up their image and replace their racist owner, with a cross dresser and convicted woman beater.

If Schaefer can't bring himself to work with Arum, I sincerely hope Oscar wins out and means it when he says this is THE fight of his life, as Schaefer is a monopolist, and a monopoly(by Goldenboy if Schaefer had his wish,) would be a bad thing for boxing imo, and would inevitably lead to fixed fights imo.
Pretty sure most of the readers will have already seen the following video, but it's Oscar at his most animated if you haven't, the endearing smile, he sure is nothing is he if he isn't a good actor! I think he has the welfare of boxing in his heart, and as he says, bringing in a new CEO would be no problem at all.
If Schaefer formed a new company with Haymon, that could mean Oscar could lose a lot of his fighters, but who knows, in the long term, they could all decide to come back to him. Who's more credible he or Schaefer? Who has the charisma?

Herman, I'd suspect that Oscar is a figure head, whereas schaefer is the brains, more of a contracts, legal and finance type of guy. Although Oscar owns the company, I wouldn't let him manage my local tesco's.
Scheafer and Haymon would be a powerful duo.

Haymon is a real player in boxing right now.
Oscar is in trouble and might not win this battle due to booze, drugs and fishnets

I understand what you are saying and Schaefer is the worker, but I'd just prefer a CEO who could take a quiet back seat and doesn't hunger for the limelight. A wannabe as Arum once called him. And clearly divisive.
Oscar taught Schaefer the business, what's to stop him finding somebody else and doing it all over again?

Oscar's credibility is in tetters.
When the boss is in rehab it gives his foes the opportunity to edge him out. Oscar is a liability right now and you sense certain factions within the company are using his personal dilmeas as a window to grab hold of a huge money making machine.
Oscar has charisma yes and he is a legand but he also wears fishnets and takes drugs

Re: De La Hoya barking up the wrong tree
Let's see how long Schaefer can stay in bed with Haymon. Let's see if Schaefer can hold it together as the front man. Because Haymon doesn't like the limelight by all accounts.
But better altogether, Oscar muzzles Schaefer and Schaefer is forced to work with Arum. For the GOOD of boxing. More chance of a pork chop in a synagogue than that though.

Re: De La Hoya barking up the wrong tree
How often do you see an Al Haymon interview?
He controls so much of boxing, but in the background. Rarely ever has such an influential man in boxing so rarely talked about by the fans, he's the darkest horse in boxing.
But yet after almost ever interview with every boxer that's used by him you hear "I'd like to thank Al Haymon"
