First topic message reminder :
Seems as though Joe Cole has been released by West Ham, might be a solid bargain for a lower league team if hes prepared to drop

How Luiz is worth 40 million is beyond me. 10 million at very very most for me.

Quite agree..if he were English I could perhaps understand the vast inflation.

Luiz is a very talented player, he does seem to go walkabout mentally, but he's put up enough big pants performances at Chelsea for me to think he's truly capable of being a high level defender.
But am I missing something? Didn't Paris just get wrapped round the knuckles for financial fair play? How are they buying £40m talent? They are linked with Eden Hazard as well. Am I misinterpreting the rulebook?
Apparently Super Frankie to re-sign at Chelsea following the World Cup.

Frank won't sign until enough is written about him in the papers. Until he sees a columnist moaning about silly Chelsea his ego won't be satisfied enough

LVG didn't want Kroos, he now doesn't want Fabregas according to this mornings reports. Where to next?

It's why I take so little notice of the papers, one day they're saying his main target is Kroos then he doesn't want he wants Fabregas then he doesn't want him, until things are reported on the BBC website it's all a load of tosh.

West Ham looking to nab Billy Jones on a free too. Also meant to be interested in Timothee Kolodziejczak of Nice, 22 year old left back. Linked with Southampton too, guessing he's the Shaw replacement

Sky Sports News are reporting that Tom Ince is travelling to Italy for contract talks with Inter, and that West Ham have agreed a three-year deal for Mauro Zarate.

Welbeck still making noises about leaving due to his desire to play centrally as a striker. Spurs notably interested, though I think he might be better off going to Everton if they dont get Lukaku

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
He's never one mentioned about wanting to leave Dolph, he's been quite forthright with his criticism of Moyes and it's understandable really, he was carrying us through December with his goals from a central position.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
I dont think he will leave.
If a manager did decide to buy Welbeck & play him centrally, they better prepare for a season of many goal scoring opportunities missed. He isn't a natural finisher, never will be. No composure whatsoever. His assets/strength are his pace & engine up & down a wing, with an ability to chip in with maybe 5-10 goals a season. That's it.

He's definitely made noises about leaving and I would take the quotes around it this time as further proof it's being considered

Ashley Williams for £3m? Could be a decent deal for someone.

Not if Michael Chopra catches up with him first it seems. Looks like Williams has been playing hide the sausage with his Mrs.

How does it make you feel knowing that Ashley Williams is PL defender and Sebastien Bassong is not.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Yeah, Chopra is having a breakdown on twitter, although he also got into a massive argument with a parody account of the Blackpool Chairman's son.
Still, Williams for £3m is a bargain. If you buy a top Championship defender you'd expect to pay £3m, and Williams is better than the Champ. Which makes him at least two leagues better than Michael Turner.

One of those days where the Telegraph report Arsenal are interested in David Marshall. For £15m. To be their number two. One of those days.

we signed anybody yet?
really feel we need to get a big signing in early after last years farce, one signing before the world cup will keep the fans happy till after the world cup and LVG can have a proper look at his team. someone like shaw would be perfect, you dont need to be with the squad to realize evras gone at the game

Shaw is all done and will probably be announced after the world cup like most will.
Us Utd fans need to be patient this summer. I'm trying to take everything I read on twitter with a pinch of salt because I don't think there's one person we haven't been linked to.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
oh yeh i'm not blaming anyone, i'm feeling similar as this is a HUGE window for utd. Get it wrong, could take years to get back to where we want to be. Simple as that. All i'm saying is, the window isn't open yet and players who we're linked with are busy preparing for the biggest tournament of their lives so won't be particularly interested in sorting out their club futures, and neither will their international coaches. Patience otherwise we'll go insane haha.

Ageing, like Robben......is this really the future of United & the way of bringing back the excitement to OT? I think not. Lazy journalism in my opinion, just making the easy connection of linking LVG with Bayern players.

Because the window isnt open, they just need filler & that breeds lazy journalism. Eriksen is a better option to build your team around than bringing in an older Lallana, who would prefer Liverpool anyway.
