First topic message reminder :
Seems as though Joe Cole has been released by West Ham, might be a solid bargain for a lower league team if hes prepared to drop

Another player we were suppose to be signing joins a Premiership team. ffs.
Not really sure what Joe Cole will do at Villa tbh. They could be a bet for relegation next season IMO.

Would imagine he'll use him like he did Wessi here, don't ask him to do much leg work, just use his creativity and ability

But you were wrong on both ability and his season before. There's nothing wrong with his ability, but he isnt a winger and hes getting on.

Jordan Bowery has signed for Rotherham.
Good luck to him, but was never going to be a regular.

So an 18 year old, with 1 season of Premier League experience is on £40k less than Robin Van Persie and earns more than all but two of Man City's Title winning side?

£27m apparently, couple of different places reporting the same figures. Apparently they were scared of losing him to Chelsea.

Well in fairness i do think he's a cracking signing for them...but thats an awul lot of money.
Now just need to fix the rest of their team...and the squad...
And to think they they could have had Colback on a free....

where you getting those numbers from, cant believe some of them. report above already says nasri and dzeko are higher than that. im also pretty sure yaya is on more than 200k, im pretty sure he's the highest paid player at the club and your stats has aguero above him.

We are going to become a crap version of Real Madrid - just throwing huge money at people.
This lad better be the best left back in the world for many a year; £27 million and 160k a week would likely land you any fullback you wanted.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
You seriously think Fernandinho would of left Ukraine's oil money for £90k. Yaya's on more like £250k.
As for Shaw on £160k, that is quite frankly ridiculous. One decent season, not even first choice England left back, never played in Europe, hardly any experience. What are United doing? Scared of losing him to Chelsea, I don't think Chelsea are even interested, they are more conservative these days, due to FFP & are more likely looking at Felipe Luis.
I look forward to seeing Shaw in two years, looking for a contract extension & wages of £200k. Embarrasing.
Apparently, we've offered Gomis a £2m signing on fee & £75k wages.
Kroos further linked with Real Madrid.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
I would seriously doubt they've offered him that amount, Januzaj is on what, £30k & he was linked with Barcelona. If United have offered Shaw that amount, then that club has just gone to pot over the past 12 months. It would also suggest, less signings are incoming, if Shaw is taking that big a chunk of wage.

According to the site i used, Januzaj is on £50k since he signed his new deal.

It's football-related inflation. I think £200k wages will be the norm within 10 years at the top clubs. Average players like Milner or Cleverley must be rubbing their hands.

160k does seem excessive, we'll wait and see once the deal is actually done. he will be first choice more often than not though (at least i hope) so anything around 100k for a first team starter isnt bad
clev is reported to be on around 60,000. or at least moyes was trying to get him on that

The thing for Utd is that they need to strengthen a vast chunk of the side and the squad. If they're spending like this then thats some serious money they're going to need.
Surely it cant be £160k pw and £27m. Is it not £60k ? That would be more like it...

Alberto Moreno deal is stalling for Liverpool, apparently Sevilla want it all in bulk and Liverpool suspect they are trying to instigate a bidding war.
Adam Lallana won't be signing until after the World Cup now, if he ever does because Southampton don't have a new manager yet and Hodgson doesn't want any transfer activity around his squad.
Emre Can deal still to be completed.
Apparently Fabregas and Costa to Chelsea is all but completed.

Snodgrass will surely be bought by a Premier League side, too good for the Championship, he could do a job for basically any team in the league.

I'd agree to some extent, probably not the top top teams, could be a useful bench option for Liverpool/Utd, and certainly a good buy for anyone outside the top 6Crimey wrote:Snodgrass will surely be bought by a Premier League side, too good for the Championship, he could do a job for basically any team in the league.
He's got a year left in his deal, so he'll almost certainly be sold this summer I'd imagine if someone comes in with a decent offer. If not he'll be a huge asset in the Championship

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
have to say while its understandable its pretty disappointing that we haven't signed anybody yet
really think this major overhaul has been majorly overplayed by the media. if we were bringing 5/6 players in we would have seen at least one/two signings in already. cant see us signing more than 3 players after the world cup. let's hope those three players are the ones we need because we will have another season of disappointment if we get it wrong. CB,CM,LB are musts for me, and would have been nice to see a winger and maybe a another CB/RB come in.

Lovren hands in transfer request. What a mess.
As for United, have no idea what is happening, all the top players are making their moves & Muller/Cesc now off the radar. Kroos will choose Madrid no doubt, Robben is ageing, along with Bastian. Time is ticking.

Apart from Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Tottenham, would be a decent bench option for Liverpool or United not that I think he'd go to either of them. Think any team below that would be that happy to sign him.

I understand it wouldn't be a fantastic signing and he wouldn't be first choice, but I really rate Snodgrass. If he had pace he would be a top player, the lack of pace isn't too damaging though because his style of play doesn't rely on it.

He scores goals, creates goals, takes a good set piece, wins plenty of free kicks, has a great work rate, he just lacks pace (his right foot is alright enough for a weaker foot)
He'd be a very good signing for a mid table side.

I'd be a little worried that he couldnt get strikers who have scored goals in other divisions to score many at all. And hes a scummy player.

In other divisions might be your answer there. Elmander never scores anyways, RVW clearly hasn't adapted, Hooper isn't really good enough from what I've seen of him, although yes first half of the season this year he wasn't very good (although I think he had a hangover from a pre season injury)
