Tonights Action - Spoilers
First topic message reminder :
Who's watching tonight then? Rees vs Buckland has a lot to live up to after the first fight and with it being Rees's last fight before he retires I wonder how much he has left.

It was 3 times.

Colonel Sheridan you utter twank!
They just showed a shot of Selcuk Aydin warming up and he declared it was Viktor Postol and then vice versa for Postol warming up. It's surely the bare minimum to know who the fighters are in the co feature.

Interesting style clash here. I have a feeling an Aydin win would be more exciting and I like his style, so I'm on his side. Postol looks awkward as they come though

Didn't Adam Booth used to train Aydin?

Yeah I remember him in the corner. Couldn't really back up Soto Karass but few can.

Absolutely loving Postol here, boring as sin, no real power in his punches, just has to stay way from that left hook and he gets me one step closer to da monnnneyyyy

Impressively efficient, looks like he's putting a bit more spite into his shots more and more as he softens Selcuck up.

Yeah starting to worry that Aydin's getting overly dominated, hoping he doesn't pack this in.

Quite glad Aydin hurt him a bit there, was starting to look like it may have gotten stopped if he didn't.

Brutal finish. He was very shaky before the uppercut, that just put the icing on it. Think if the ref were closer he would've intervened sooner.

Re: Tonights Action - Spoilers
I think all in all we can last night paul smith beat a stif but as he has a world title fight coming up you cant blame him for that
Callum Smith came through a little fight with flying colours with brutal body punching
Rees signed off with a good win one of the judges should be investigated though as no way did Buckland win that by three rounds!
I am yet to be convinced by Selby dont think his power is that good for world level and he switches off too often, he will struggle to win a world title. As for Cleverly not much has changed in the breif snippets we saw Corbin was totally useless
FOY candidate on channel 5 cracking fight shame it probebly wont be recognised by the general public.
JMM did what was expected against alverado please not another fight with pacman!

Did anyone else notice the amount of zits on Marquez's body/chest?

There is a lot of speculation that Marquez is a steroid abuser.

Yeah, but I wouldn't read too much into it. I'm almost certain Marquez is on the power pellets, but body acne is a red herring. Could just as likely be as a result of a reaction to whey powder.

He might be lactose intolerant. I thought the same thing in all seriousness. could just as easily be a reaction to some legal supplement. Though most legal supplements are fairly weak and don't often cause reactions you would think.

There could be a chance the convicted ped supplier he hired has been supplying him with designer drugs that are hard to detect. This may be the cause of an acne outbreak, increased punching power and superior conditioning for a man in his 40s.

Could be, but there are a few less sinister possibilities as well.

Depends on the individual, really. I got back acne a couple months ago when I switched my supplements from pure whey to iso whey. Cleared up when I reverted. If Marquez has a similar issue, but prefers iso whey, I'd hardly think acne will encourage him to change supplements.

Re: Tonights Action - Spoilers
Yeah I started to get back acne when I used cheaper Whey powder, went back to the expensive stuff and it cleared up... But somehow I doubt it...

I also saw Marquez awkwardly talking to a girl while making no eye contact and calling his parents "conformists".

Pacquiao vs Marquez 5 is what Arum will push for. Not sure I want to see that though.

Re: Tonights Action - Spoilers
It's a bit of a rotten situation for the Top Rank Welters right now. Three excellent and very different fighters in Pacquiao, Marquez and Bradley - but we've already seen a combined seven fights between the trio. Might seem odd to be so cold about the prospect of Marquez-Pacquiao V given that the first four have usually produced a brilliant fight, I suppose, but given how much genuine depth and talent there is at 140 / 147 over on Showtime, it's hard to get away from the feeling that whoever wins out of Manny and Juan is only establishing themselves as 'the best of the rest', and that doesn't do justice to fighters as great as they are, particularly Manny.
The odd thing is, after he finally got his win over Manny back at the end of 2012, Marquez kept stressing things such as, "No, no more fights against Pacquiao. This business is done now," and the like. But as soon as Bradley beat him, he started calling Pacquiao out again at every opportunity. I guess losing to Bradley has made him realise that, at the age of 41 soon, he needs Pacquiao to keep him relevant in the bigger sense.
As the lesser of two evils, I'd rather see one of Marquez or Pacquiao trim back down to 140 or implement a catchweight for a scrap against Provodnikov, just to prevent things from going too stale over on HBO. Preferably Marquez, I suppose, as I'd like Pacquiao to do a U-turn on this imminent extension with Arum and sign off by testing the waters in the shark tank of Showtime's Welter / Light-Welter scene with Floyd, Thurman, Porter, Maidana, Khan, Matthysse, Garcia etc. At his age and looking to me like he's slipping a bit, Marquez might not be cut out for that anymore.....But Pacquiao still might just be.
