Dickinson vs Clarkson
I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread on this fight from Saturday evening.
6 knockdowns in all, swings in momentum and a 5th round that will probably be the best of the year (it was astonishing).
Was everyone watching Sky?

Re: Dickinson vs Clarkson
I saw people talking in twitter about it live so watched it on the +1 channel.
It was very entertaining and if you were there would have been outstanding.
As there was so much hype I saw on twitter I, in a way expected more but big fr UK boxing for it to be shown on terrestrial.

Haz, I forgot the Channel 5 card was on but forgot I'd put a series link to this on Channel 5.
It was one of the best domestic fights I'd seen in years.
Not the highest quality boxing you are ever going to see but you will not see more entertainment in a British ring for a very long time.
If only Clarkson set his shots to the body more rather then go wading in, he would have stopped Dickinson no doubt. The toughness and heart shown by both boxers was out of this world. Something top boxers like Victor Ortiz can only dream about having.

I agree. The quality was lacking but what heart from both men. Clarkson was unlucky in that 5th round -- at one point he walked away thinking it had been stopped.
Dickinson's post-fight interview was brilliant also. I'm from up here and I didn't understand a word!

My only grape with that was the stoppage, the Argie definitely should have been able to hear the final bell. Sky didn't want Coyle to lose. Which took some of the gloss off for me.
Although the stoppage was contentious in the Dickinson v Clarkson fight, the fact Clarkson had huge swelling on the side of his face (broken jaw), which the doctor advised the ref he had, the ref still let him have another minute to see if he could finish what he started in the 5th round.

I just think the quality of the fight was better plus the contentious stoppage added to the drama i happen to agree with you though it should not have been stopped

I agree the quality of the boxing was better in Coyle v TTA, but in terms of entertainment it was Dickinson v Clarkson for me.

I'm not sure TBH. I was half asleep and only stayed up because of the comments. Probably deserves another watch.

Re: Dickinson vs Clarkson
A few of us talked about it on the 'tonight's action' thread, Haz. Brilliant fight right from the get go. Dickinson is one hard, hard lad to get through that fifth round. Just a shame that a dubious stoppage left just a hint of sour taste. Already put my theory forward (namely that the referee was expecting it to be stopped when the ringside doc took a look at Clarkson's injuries, and so was dealing with extra urges at the moment he stepped in) but whatever the truth they put on a fantastic show.
Agree with the general sentiment that Coyle-Brizuela might just have been ever so slightly better, but if someone thinks the other way you can't have any complaints. Certainly the best fight C5 have shown, anyway!

Re: Dickinson vs Clarkson
Coyle Vs Brizuela 11th round was just a thing of pure beauty.
Coyle goes down from a body short for what was I think the 3rd or 4th time, I looked at my dad and just said "It's all over, he can't come back from that" For Coyle to get up and flatten him with his very next punch, literally jumped out of my seat and just shouted "I DON'T BELIEVE IT!"
