Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
This Financial Fair Play doesn't seem to be very fair (pardon the pun but it had to be done. Re-read this and see if you can spot what I'm laughing at).
The FFP seems to be hindering a lot of clubs in the Championship and the Premier League. Although, it is very good for Burnley, their FFP is so good European football is coming their way apparently! You just have to be so careful nowadays with these rules it's untrue. Shows how prices in football are going sky high now. I preferred the days when FFP was virtually unspoken about and clubs in the Premier League could buy a good player (if they were mid-table or below) for £5m. I remember the summer when Reading sold Shane Long for £7m and Matt Mills for £5m. I'd say 5 years before that those would be European quality prices (not players) we were looking at! Shows how much time moved on.
10 years ago, Bony is worth £10m.
2015, Bony is worth almost £30m!
Hindering City, potentially? Step down with your prices please. It's just moronic.

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
As far as I can tell, (just judging from transfer news) it doesn't seem to be stopping any of the Premier league elite buying whoever they want, regardless of their financial situation.
I will agree it seems to be hurting a lot of Championship clubs though.
My club (Boro) for instance are having to rely on a number of loan players (thank god our manager is mates with Mourinho) and have to be extremely careful about who we buy. We have to buy and sell pretty much on a 1-in, 1-out basis.
I do worry though about what will happen if/when our loan deals end, as we will be significantly weaker without them.

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
I saw it when City signed Bony than the FFP may be involved somehow. Read the BBC page where the headline is Man City sign Bony it has a short paragraph on that.
Reading don't sign many players thankfully it some cases.
We only sign players that are available on the cheap and are good quality really as most clubs should be looking for. We have that and have no trouble with the FFP at this moment in time.

Good win by forest and well deserved. We were shocking in the second half, long journey home back from there but we've still got it all to play for. COYR's

Was you there GSC? Was pretty shocking behaviour and hopefully he gets done for assault and banned for life.
We weren't too far from it and fair to say when Wilson stood up (I think i was Wilson, big bald geezer) and looked at him (last part of the vid) the 'assailant' crapped himself a little bit. Hope they all got a couple of digs in on him whilst he was held down.

Fawaz's car got some damage to it as well, dunno what goes through the minds of some of these people. We lost fair and square and got outplayed in the 2nd half. Gutted we lost but not enough to do something like that.

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
Ipswich looked a woeful team tonight. Once again backs my theory up that the standard in this league has dropped quite considerably. Derby and Boro the only 2 legit teams that look up to going up.
Tyrone Mings - Premiership class. Give me a break.

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
I think all the top 6 teams have looked woeful at times.
As far as promotion is concerned, I think it will be a case of who is poor the least often. Its been a very tight league so far and I don't see it changing...no real standout teams.
Only been to a few games so far (also caught a couple on TV) and the general standard of football hasn't been bad...things just tend to get a bit scrappy inside the 18-yard boxes. Will admit I've seen a fair bit of woeful finishing (much of it from Boro). The amount of chances we create, we ought to have won more games, more comfortably.
Quite often games turn on mistakes or rare moments of brilliance. Still quite entertaning though...when its not hugely frustrating, that is.

Who do we think for promotion and relegation then?
Promoted - Derby, Boro and Bourenmouth for me.
Relegated - Blackpool, Millwall then either Brighton, Wigan or Rotherham.

Well we still have to play Derby and Bournemouth again, albeit away. If we can get a point from both those games, I'd fancy our chances of a top 2 spot.
