Admittedly Sami Hyypia was his manager and his tactics are as much use as a vegetarian going into a steak restaurant, he also had to play alongside Caskey for much of his loan spell. None the less really don't rate him, looks a league one player for me.

26 pts from 30 since Neil came in, victories away to Bournemouth, Watford and Blackburn as well as home wins over Ipswich and Wolves. Big time stuff.
Speaking of big time stuff if somebody can explain to me how on earth Tyrone Mings is valued at £10 million I'd appreciate it.

All in our hands now, Derby and Boro both to come to carrow road. Starting to feel the only team that can stop us is ourselves. Onto Wigan on Wednesday

I had Norwich to win the league at the start of the season, so I for one am delighted to see this surge up the table!
Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
Still think Derby and Boro will come first and Second but i think Norwich will do it via the play offs.
Olly glad I'm not the only one who doesn't rate Tyrone Mings.

I'm starting to think we don't want to get promoted.
Home defeat by Leeds, scrappy win against Bolton and a shambolic performance at Wednesday.
Are we suffering burn-out already...surely not?

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
Massive win for the Boro tonight after what can only be described as very poor last few games, both in results and displays.
Usually our poor form hits us December through till March and given we avoided that this year, im really hoping that we aren't saving it for these final two months.
Derby losing two on the spin is a bit of a bonus for us, and everyone else within the Top 8 (dont count out Wolves just yet)..
Given the latest results past few games the outlook on the two most likely for automatic promotion has changed; I would make Norwich & Watford the favourites at the moment...
Norwich are in great form and add in the fact there two toughest games (Boro & Derby) are at home and they also have 5 of the bottom 6 sides in remaining 11 fixtures..it seems set up for them to be honest.
Watford are another team who have got stronger as the season has progressed and are making a run to the top at the right time..they face 3 sides around them in final 11 matches...and again have home comfort for two of them.
Bournemouth have showed inconsistency and whilst they perhaps have a fixture set close to as good as Norwich's I think they will fall just short and end up in the playoffs rather than Top two.
As for the current Top two...well for both arguably the toughest set of fixtures out of anyone in the Top 6..
Derby have 5 of the Top 6 still too play...though have Boro and Watford at home at least. Yet they do have a final 3 games of Millwall, Huddersfield and Reading which may prove vital.
Onto my team, nightmare run in and I am concerned we could amazingly be out of the running by the end of March...next four fixtures
Notts Forest (A), Ipswich (H), Derby (A), Bournemouth (A)
Throw in trips to Norwich and Watford during our run in and theres no arguing we have by far the most difficult end to the season. With out current form and those fixtures I have to say that i would settle for playoffs come the final day!
(note last time i posted we lost 3 of our next 4....)

See now I'd be more confident if we had more of the better sides, we've tended to slip up in the easier games all season and I do worry that we may get complacent

Keep the faith owen, hard games, yes but trust me non of them will fancy us,with big Ayala ready to come back and Carayol chomping at the bit we won't be far away,we have the class to win this league no doubt about it.All 3 strikers hit the net last night(which is what we needed) and we could have scored more more.Bring it on,the other sides will all have blips.owen10ozzy wrote:Massive win for the Boro tonight after what can only be described as very poor last few games, both in results and displays.

Ayala's had an excellent season for us,hence the lowest goals against in the division. We ain't relying on one player to get us up,the squad we have will do that.Olly wrote:If you're relying on Daniel ayala's fitness for promotion I feel for you Boro fans #sicknote

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
Its harsh to say they are relying on Ayala alone. Bamford, Adomah, Kike, Leadbitter, Kalas, Friend, Reach etc all been very good for Middleborough this season. Whereas the mighty Royals have the best midfield in terms of quality in the Championship by some distance. Williams, Karacan, Guthrie and Norwood are absolutely class players. Akpan and Chalaboah both fit into that category as well. Jake Taylor, Aaron Kuhl fit into the young category along with Stacey. Robson-Kane, McCleary, Blackman, Obita that can all play wide and are absolutely class. We have the best midfield in the Championship by some distance.

Face the facts if the players you mention are that good then you should be up there fighting for automatic promotion or the playoffs,so I think your deluding yourself, the league positions don't lie.FootballLight wrote:Its harsh to say they are relying on Ayala alone.
