Hang on a minute.
When did this happen? I can't find news of it anywhere.

There will be those who watched him fight, half expecting him to make a comeback from this. Guess he's all out of miracles. RIP Matt thanks for the memories.

What an entertainer he was. Not fortunate enough to have grown up watching Saad's battles as they unfolded like some lucky guys, but that Light-Heavy era of the mid seventies to mid eighties is probably my favourite microcosm of boxing history looking back. Great value-for-money fighters, none more so than him.

Nicely put.
It seems strange that I was watching the Lopez fights just a couple of days ago. A beast of a fighter.
Rest In Peace

Boxing matters now ....
Saddest thing about Saad was he was set up for a big pay day unification with Spinks when he lost to Qawi...Would have been an intriguing matchup but alas it didn't happen.
Shame he's gone....RIP

Never knew much about him if in honest but have watched some clips of him in the past and the clip above is a gem. Especially that left uppercut at 03:20. That one punch is on nearly every boxing knockout dvd you will ever find.
Looked like a talented boxer with a great heart and a chin, throw in the sad upbringing and adversity he had to over come only makes it sadder. RIP
